Does anyone notice a difference in the physics of the Williams tables between PC and PS4?
I own the tables on both, and I was playing mainly on PS4, but when I started playing more on PC recently I noticed that the "Arcade" physics on PC feel more like the "Tournament" physics on PS4, just...
The graphics are obviously very PS2 era 3D quality, but the physics are pretty close to ZEN's original physics, and the table play on their free table and a couple others (playground, mud race) are quite fun.
It feels like I am playing a retro digital 3D pinball game from like 2001. It is...
When the ball bounces back and forth above the rollovers at the top of the table, it goes into this sort of frenzy bouncing back and forth at turbo speed, like it is being played in fast forward. It happens regularly, so I am not sure if it is a bug, or if Zen did this to speed up the game play...
I assume Farsight owns the code the wrote for the tables themselves. So, theoretically, could they reskin the artwork, code the core game code/DMD themselves with their own sound, give them new names and themes, and then release those tables as Farsight originals?
If Williams doesn't actually...
I use pinballmap for some of this, but I thought it might be useful if we had a place to just drop off info after we play a pin somewhere. Maybe we could even send it to pinballmaps for the data once we put together a large enough list.
Zen should create parity across all of their games with difficulty settings for all tables as:
Normal (The default setting. Zen table default physics.)
Hard (Currently "arcade" mode on fx3)
Expert (the physics of the current tournament mode of fx3, but with extra balls on)
Tournament (as it is...
After about 3 hours of work on tournament difficulty on Attack from Mars (PS4), I clawed to #48 (all time), and #1 (weekly), with 2,633M. It's really friggin hard. Come knock me out, and post your max difficulty ranks here.
My name is msilcommand on PS4 and PC. I just opened the ps4 account...
When I am playing hotseat games with my wife, it is a hassle passing the controller back and forth.
I would love to see Zen at least add a Guest controller mode, so we don't have to pass the controller around, or shut off/start up controllers each time.
I am not talking split screen...
I have seen some old ideas of multiplayer tables, where the table is like a soccer field, with flippers on each end, and players try to score on each other. Maybe if done in an exciting way, with cool stuff going on in the middle, this could be fun.
My idea is a bit different. I would like to...
I run a 24' vertical monitor. Asus VG245H: 1080p, 75hz, 1ms. It looks pretty good, but on some tables the outer edges of the tables are cut off. It mostly affects habitrails that go out wide, which doesn't affect the gameplay, but I have been wondering if a 27' vertical monitor might be the...
I hear a lot about the "floaty" ball in TPA, and now that I have played the Williams tables on FX3, you can see a very marked difference in the speed of the game. Fx3 is an overall faster game, but did they opt for a 7 degree angle feel on their emulated tables, or more, for that faster play...
Zen went with a clean stereo sound for their Williams tables, rather than the nostalgic, semi-distorted boxy sound of a live machine that Farsight went with. I like both, personally. I think both approaches fit the style and experience of each game.
Exclusive digital licensing kills healthy competition
Exclusive licensing in digital pinball kills competition, which slows progress in digital pinball. These antiquated, myopic licensing practices have been slowing and stunting digital pinball for far too long. Imagine where digital pinball...
Their tables are digital pinbal, but not simulation style. That said, I find myself playing it more than I play Zen, Williams, Atomic, or TBA on my Android. It just plays better on mobile overall. Their tables are pretty solid, although I have only found the baseball table and Apparatus to...
