This is the master issues list for Dr. Dude. This thread is maintained to aid FarSight in exterminating gameplay bugs, art issues, and sound problems from DD.

This thread is locked to keep it clean and focused on actual issues, as opposed to opinions about such issues. Report art issues in the Art forum, and all other issues in a new thread in this table's forum. I will add newly-reported issues to this thread at regular intervals. In addition, each bug has a link to the thread it was reported in; discussion of bugs should take place there.

Status key:
  • New - Issues that are newly reported.
  • Unknown - Issues from a long time ago that have not been followed up in a while so that no one really knows what happened to them.
  • Confirmed / Open - Issues that either I've personally reproduced, that so many people have reported that the existence of the issue is not in doubt, and/or that members have posted a demonstration (like a YouTube clip) of the issue.
  • Acknowledged - Issues that have been acknowledged by FarSight, but for which no fix exists yet.
  • Fix Pending - Issues that have fixed by FarSight, but the fix is in testing or submission process and is not yet available to players.
  • Fixed - Issues that have been resolved by FarSight. Note that not all platforms receive bug fixes at the same time, so an issue that is "Fixed" may still be unresolved on some platforms.
  • Could Not Reproduce - Issues that were reported, but the issue has not been successfully reproduced.
  • Working as Designed - Issues that are bugs or quirks in the actual table, as well as other issues that result from design or licensing constraints.


GAMEPLAY ISSUES:

23-001: Camera locks onto the Molecular Mixmaster if shot within first few seconds of multiball
First reported: 16 Feb 2013
Description: Shooting the second ball into the Molecular Mixmaster sometimes causes the camera to lock onto the mixmaster. Chance of occurrence is increased if this shot is made before the first ball is released from the Excellent Ray. This issue can also occur if a ball is shot into the ray while a ball is already in the mixmaster.

Status: Acknowledged as of 07 May 2013
Workaround: Turn Event Camera option off, but see Issue # 23-004.

23-002: Local top score increases if a higher score is achieved
First reported: 19 Feb 2013
Description: Beating the top local high score sometimes causes a new, greater high score to appear.
Devices: iOS
Status: Acknowledged as of 27 Dec 2013.

23-003: Game performance is severely degraded on Vita
First reported: 01 May 2013
Description: Game slows down severely, has been described as "playing underwater".
Devices: Vita
Status: Acknowledged as of 27 Dec 2013. See also Issue # 23-602.

23-004: Camera twitches when exiting the mixmaster
First reported: 07 May 2013
Description: If the Event Camera option is off, the camera twitches on exiting the mixmaster, as it attempts to zoom out then corrects itself.
Devices: iOS
TPA Version: iOS v1.2.7
Status: Acknowledged as of 27 Dec 2013.

23-005: Double Jackpot wizard goal not registering
First reported: 26 Nov 2013
Description: The wizard goal "Score a Double Jackpot" does not register when its criterion is fulfilled.
Devices: PC
TPA Version: PC v1.20.4
Status: Working as designed. Double Jackpot can only be qualified during multiball.

ART ISSUES:

23-501: Black line in middle of playfield
First reported: 04 Mar 2013
Description: There's a black line extending horizontally across the table right above the "GAZILLION!" text.
Devices: iPad 2 (does not seem to appear or is extremely hard to see on Retina devices)
Status: Acknowledged as of 27 Dec 2013.

23-502: Various lights missing from playfield
First reported: 23 Feb 2013
Description: The yellow light above Gift of Gab, the red light above Heart of Rock and Roll, the green light above Magnetic Personality and the white light on Dr. Dude's forehead are missing.
Devices: iPad 2
Status: Could not reproduce. The indicated lights are present on iPad 3.

23-503: Playfield on Vita is of poor quality
First reported: 02 May 2013
Description: Dr. Dude on the Vita has lower visual quality than earlier tables. It appears blurred and low-resolution.

SOUND ISSUES:

23-601: Two soundtracks play simultaneously while viewing instructions
First reported: 18 Feb 2013
Description: While viewing the instructions, two musical tracks are playing on top of each other. Occurs if previous game was fully completed (player did not quit mid-game) and instructions are then viewed.
Devices: iOS
Status: Fixed in iOS v1.2.7.

23-602: Sound playback is delayed and choppy
First reported: 02 May 2013
Description: Table sounds are played later than they should be and/or are choppy.
Devices: Vita
Status: Acknowledged as of 27 Dec 2013. See also Issue # 23-003.

Thanks for maintaining these bugs, I hope to be more active in these forums and to get these bugs resolved since we aim for a 0 bug list. Here is what I will be reporting in our database from your current list

ART ISSUES:

In regards to the remaining bugs listed,

Vita is going through an overhaul which is planned to address many performance and art issues.

The event cameras are currently bugged and the fix is pending.

As for the wizard goal "Score a Multi-Ball Double Jackpot", testing has shown that this goal is working correctly . This goal can only be achieved during multi-ball. Hitting the right side drop targets will activate the "Double Jackpot". Then hitting the mix-master Spot targets to collect the jackpot will grant the Double Jackpot.
