Casino Run is 100% true random. there's no pattern at all to it. Even in tournament mode, it's still random.

THX. The rest I know from that list doesn't have that feeling. It's not that the sound in general is annoying like in some other games (SST or HRC) but in those moments when only music is present without mechanical sounds and effects/callouts it reminds me on porn. Maybe it's just me :D

There is a difference between "no pattern" and "truly random". It can be random without a pattern, but still do things like reduce the frequency of EBs as a game lengthens. I'm still not sure if it does, after several games.

I'm leaning towards no, that the EB frequency in Casino Run remains constant. If it seems like more sometimes, it's because we apply selective perception in remembering the times it hands out a bunch and forget the times it doesn't. Also, it feels more lucrative on a real machine since the Specials mean something there, while they're useless in TPA.

When set to points, specials are worth a half BILLION. They just don't add to casino run total. SO they are in fact QUITE worthwhile. Did TPA seriously just leave them as replays???

TPA should have set them to points. Extra balls are 250 million as well, when you are playing in tournament mode with no extra balls.

Specials in TPA Jack*Bot are set to the factory ROM default of 1M. This was confirmed by FS during Android beta testing.

I don't know... random can be defined as the absence of patterns: "Randomness means lack of pattern or predictability in events" (from wikipedia: Randomness). I know the mathematical def'n is complicated but I'd suppose it says the same thing. If the EB frequency goes down, Casino Run is not 100% random. I don't have an opinion yet (although I'm curious where Zaphod77 got his info).

I have written down several of my runs but I only have one third run (a third run in a single game). I don't know if I can get enough data to make any claims but I'll try to get more.

I have twice gotten a No Bomb, and each time it was immediately followed by a Bomb in reel 1. :)

The TPA in-game instructions for Jack●Bot also say that specials (including the cow) are worth 1M.

The concept of randomness includes the concept of distribution. A population of random numbers doesn't have to balance all results equally. It can be biased towards or away from some results. A loaded die does this. It can favor a particular result, but there is no pattern or predictability in when that result occurs, so it is random.

"True random" is not a phrase with any rigorous definition in mathematics. It may be used in colloquial usage to mean a flat unbiased distribution. But any arguing over what that means is just semantics.

By 'true Random" i meant uninfluenced by any predictable factors, and different for each player.

and so that was a custom setting for the tournament? Too bad... wow 1 million specials. seems pointless. i much prefer half a billion specials. :)

Yes, random does not imply equiprobable.

Arguing is no good. But it would seem a prerequisite to talking about whether the Casino Run spins are random would be stating what definition of random you are using :).

Another Casino Run possible example of randomness: I doubt that a bomb has the same probability of showing up on the first spin of a run as on the fourth or fifth spin. Also, I think a bomb may be more likely to show up on the second reel.

My definition of random for Casino Run is that the probability distribution for a reel is constant from reel to reel, spin to spin, and run to run.

I mean it doesn't deliberately try to help out players who are behind, or give the same stuff to every player. it's possible it purposely never spins a bomb in on the first few spins.

SO it's got some tough wizard goals. :)

For the poker one, you need three of a kind, and then to cheat on the poker game to get 4 of a kind. May take a few tries.

The mega Jack bot is by far the hardest goal. you must complete mega visor. the good news is that progress is saved between multiballs. the bad news is after the first two you must get the second lock the hard way. you can't use the quick open method to lock ball two.

Casino run doesn't get any harder to start after the first time. It is also totally random. Even in tournament mode. This is very much intentional. but you can cheat and bonk bombs off of the center reel only by cheating.

I don't really agree regarding the Mega Jackpot being the hardest goal. It is tough but since the progress is cumulative you will end up there with 1-2 decent multiballs (and 2-3 bad multiballs) which require some 2-3 extra balls or so. The Poker and Dice I think are more difficult since you are dependent on a single randomizer helping you out.

I only have the Four of a kind left and that will be tricky since you have to avoid getting 2's as well (right?). The easiest way may be to fill it up during casino run... In the end it's just a matter of trying and trying and it will happen.

Fun game! Drainy, but fun!

Multiball gets really hard to start after the first two. That's what makes the mega jack bot goal so hard.

That, and the dice goal are the ones I have left. It's really hard to max the dice game wager.

If you have TWO 2s, you will always get the full house. but if you have only 1 two, and three 1s, you can still get the 4 of a kind. But poker seems the easiest game to cheat at.

I can't because it is the year 2015 so I am playing on a tablet. It flashes and I push it and it makes a noise that sounds bad and stops. But it flashes all the time.

if it makes the noise it's working. you just need to press it more often. At least 5 presses while it's flashing.

I agree on a tablet unless you're using a controller it's more difficult to cheat because you have to move your thumb from the flipper zone to the on-screen button. It's the same with other tables where you need to press that button while balls are in play, such as BK's Magna Saves, hitting the button for the Cow secrets in AFM, and so on.

On my X360 controller which I use for PC, I've remapped the button from the right trigger (my triggers are flaky, the right one in particular) to the unused 'Back' button (or 'Select' button if you're familiar with the "traditional" Nintendo/DualShock controller). That way I'm using my left thumb and my index fingers don't even need to leave the shoulder buttons that I use for the flippers.
