I agree with this. I like Premieres fine IRL. Another reason is that the lumpy, quirky scoring works OK because getting even one or two jackpots is a real achievement. The TPA versions are a grind regardless, as we know, but I just find "how many jackpots can you rack up" an inherently less...
I'm very underwhelmed so far. I don't like the table in real life, and this version isn't really moving the needle. There is just not a lot gong on with the playfield. So much wasted real estate.
The only real satisfying shots IMO on the real table are the center shots, but they suffer badly...
The most obvious platform difference here is just the usual one---nudge strength/tilt sensitivity, which is a bigger problem for tables like this (and e.g. El Dorado) where on mobile 2 x nudge = tilt.
Dang, midnight madness, I had no idea.
Anyway, I tried to play around with ball recycle skill shots + bonus x + extra balls +drains as an optimizing strategy in Junk Yard. That bonus can overwhelm everything except outer space, and with the 10 minute limit the score and time sacrifices...
I'm curious (and have zero expertise here), aren't ball physics what is going to get us away from railroaded kickouts, bricked ramps etc? Or is what you mean by flipper physics also going to have implications for this?
Is there a more frustrating table for a timed tournament than Junk Yard? Everything takes forever. Ball in play to total time ratio might be under 50%. And yes, I'm just bitter because I hit 0:00 halfway through the animation counting my 10m bonus for 20+ fireworks.
My masochistic quest to beat my 2.5b HRC high score continues, and I had a new experience today. I plunged ball 1 and it spun in the roulette wheel, accumulating the 25k each time, infinitely. Well, I let it spin up to 30m to see if anything would happen before nudging it to a stop and starting...
Well now I feel like a doofus because right after posting I managed 575,000. Apparently all I need to do to improve my scores is vent on the forums. :)
One thing: I got this using 3 ball mode. Maybe just a coincidence. I get the "gambler's fallacy" justification for 5 ball as mentioned in the...
I have played roughly infinity games of Big Shot, and my high score is 300,610, good for a scintillating 749th on the leaderboards. I'm having trouble even conceiving of how 1m+ scores can be one on this table. Are there any videos floating around of a high score?
I've always found CV pretty tough but I finally had a good game on it yesterday (724m) so I wanted to record some thoughts.
- Just keep the ball away from the slings and outlanes at all costs. Lots of proactive nudging high up the table to keep things under control. BUT also worth getting to...
