Thanks for all the replies and the great suggestions.
k88dad (particularly): Would it, to learn a new table, also be a good idea to play a few games only practicing on one of the goals from the instructions ? Or is that just what you are recommending already ?
I haven't played TPA the last few years because, although I got some good advice here, I couldn't get a grip on it somehow. I think that I know why meanwhile. I bought a new TV some time ago, a LG Oled, that has a Game Mode and started playing again and noticed that I had hardly any lag now...
When I get a Multiball, I am inclined to flip wildly hoping that there accidentally are some good shots. Most of the times it ends in losing the balls very quickly.
Do you have any tips and/or is there a way to get more control over the balls ?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Sorry for starting another thread with regards to nudging, but I would like to know your opinions and/or thoughts.
Is it, with enough practice, possible to reach the final goal of a table without nudging, for instance the Grand Finale in TOM or Monster Multiball in SS, which are the tables...
But is nudging not (also) used to try to save the ball from going down the drain or to the outlane ?
Or did you mean "You don't only nudge to save the ball...."
Until now I find it impossible to nudge. My reactions are terribly slow. Before I realize that I have to nudge, the ball is already lost.
Of course that means that I have to practice a lot and maybe concentrate some time on only nudging. I already found a few threads here with helpful tips...
In my Steam inventory there are a number of Trading Cards, but it is not clear to me what I can do with them. I suppose that you can "trade" them, but what can I do with them myself ?
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I am not a gamer, except for TPA of course.
Hoping that this is not a too dumb question:
To keep everything as responsive as possible, is it advisable to set pre-rendered frames to 1 AND window mode to Fullscreen Window instead of Fullscreen ?
Did all that meanwhile (deleted settings.dat, ran PBAConfig, checked settings.dat=44 bytes). When I run PinballArcade.exe after that I am still asked if I want to Play or Launch configuration utility, as before.
Because it is not a big problem for me I didn't pay attention to it, but I have the same issue. I am on Windows 7.
When I start TPA with PinballArcade.exe the 1st time after starting my pc, I first see "Connecting to Steam account...." and then I get a window where I must choose between "Play"...
I read that 8 loops in the right ramp awards an extra ball, but has this to be done without interruption ? In other words successively or may a shot be missed in between ?
For me the triggers are also feel easier, but I don't like the longer stroke it takes before the flipper is activated. Maybe a matter of getting accustomed to ?
