I do agree that devs should take responsibility for proper memory management in their apps.
It only contributes to the overall stability of the platform, and that is a good thing.
Wonder if we should start documenting these workarounds more publicly?

Unless you guys are having memory issues, what do you feel the disadvantages are of letting android manage RAM and resources dynamically? Like its designed to do.
I'd agree that sound has issues. There seems to be issues with some of the mechanical effects in the sound pool as well. Notably flipper stroke.

You want to be able to exit the app from any screen, so you can be sure the game is purged from memory.

If I'm playing Sky Force Reloaded, I get an "Exit the game" modal at that app's version of the main lobby as well. I don't get...

The point I'm making is that FarSight would have set a minimum device spec in their build.
It's unlikely that a device like the OPs would be supported now.
Controller support is improving.
The previous release had practically no support except in the table.
Now there is more navigation in game menus, and I'm seeing more button mapping consistency for backing out of menus.
