I am still hoping we will get something like 8 ball de luxe or Fathom this season or next. Farsight did a great job with Centaur from the same production year and both of them are high ranking early 80' games that is extremly fun to play.

VP are going places for sure. The new physics (still in beta) has incredible potential. Along with DX 9 support and other goodies being worked on for VP 10.

On a side note... The music is not yet modified with higher specs but I just had to say what a fantastic job they did on the original. Not many real pinball machines did any better, apart from one or two truly standout classics in the late 80' early 90' (like black knight 2000)

There is so many variables regarding a real machine. Bumps on the playfield, pitch, how it is leveled , flipper strength, rubber conditions, dirt on the playfield, old or new machine, etc. If you are new to pinball, you can play one machine and hate it, play the same machine in another place and...

While we wait, visual pinball is taking huge steps right now. Not only dx9(and beyond), but a major physics update is in the works, and it's gonna be sweet. The early beta for the physics is incredible, so buying a cab is far from a waste (with that said, I feel your pain, DaPinballWizard)
