I recently switched to using the bumpers on my 360 gaming sessions.
It DOES feel different (probably closer to a real pinball machines since the controls are more digital than analog in nature) and takes some getting used to. But ultimately I think the adjustment will pay off and translate into...
While I think the cost of a new machine is somewhat prohibitive at the moment, who knows though.
It seems that pinball is enjoying somewhat of a resurgence lately as a result of Stern's last few releases, TPA, and other companies like Jersey Jack coming into the scene. Perhaps the prices will...
Since I'm reasonably new to the pinball scene, after checking out some of the videos over on the PAPA, are there really pro players these days who make a living solely off of playing pinball?
Just curious. I know that some of the high profile players like Bowen Kerins and Keith Elwin do videos...
I bought the core pack and the V&V pack.
Not a bad use of 800 MS Points while waiting for the next TPA release.
These games are surprisingly fun...feel free to add me to your friends list.
I actually have several great options nearby:
Funworld (Ironman, AC/DC, Transformers @ 4 tokens for 3 plays)
Pinball Wizard Arcade (a literal pinball heaven with well-maintained machines)
Funspot (tons of classic pins)
Wow thanks guys.
I just checked out the specs for the new Fires today and I must say, I am intrigued.
I'd like to avoid Apple products if possible, so this is a viable alternative for sure!
I agree with all the statements above.
I would love to see tutorial vids for each table. I personally find myself plateauing with regards to skill an score.
Seeing some well made videos would likely help me find the flaws in my technique and help me get to the next level on fave games like...
I've been thinking of getting a Kindle Fire (as an upgrade to my Kindle black and white ereader).
Do you find the 7 inch display large enough for TPA?
I mainly play on the Xbox 360, so I'm quite curious.
I definitely see where the OP is coming from.
In a perfect world, it would awesome to have the entire table modeled down to the innards and coinbox. But I'd rather have more playable tables released regularly than something like this.
What I think would be cooler would be a mode to simulate...
Agreed on all counts.
After playing the real tables of Medeival Madness and Funhouse over the weekend, there's obviously much room for improvment in terms of the sounds in TPA
But that begs the question, will Farsight continue to release new tables to the new consoles using their existing tools and development methods? Or will we see a switchover to higher resolution art and better physics thanks to the increased horsepower provided by the new technology?
I think it was definitely Medeival Madness that revealed the "story" element and goals that are inherent to a good table.
Before taking the time to learn and study the rules of a table, I had just assumed pinball was about simply staying alive and racking up a random score.
The other thing...
well that's sort of the issue. I only recently got into the pinball scene and none of my friends or co-workers are into it.
What I'd like is a way to either play against my Xbox 360 friends directly over LIVE, or at minimum be able to watch games in progress.
