Actually, at least in regards to Humble Bundle, no you are not allowed to do that. Doing that is not really fair towards these deals.

Well, they could just give out the betas after the campaign ends. August release most likely won't mean 1st of August, more likely towards the end of August, so that would be still a full month before the proper release.
Well, it should. And announcing that people can get to PC Beta by backing should give a nice boost to backers and pledges. Which would be great if this indeed is the only window of opportunity to get the table made.
That is unnecessarily inflammatory and downright not true. If you check the sales statistics of any of the Humble Bundles (game bundles where buyers can choose the price they pay for it), the Linux users always pay the most, sometimes beating the average of Windows users two-fold. Linux users...
Hmm... a closed public beta, what does that mean? Sounds like an oxymoron to me. I'd really like to help with the beta, but it does sound like it's only the Kickstarter people that get in. Even though it is "public".
