I, too, was thinking of Scorpion and Pharaoh. I enjoyed Big Guns. I wish the poll also had Time Fantasy and Laserball. And Firepower II. Maybe all the ones people are mentioning in the thread that didn't make it will eventually make their way in.
I'd like CC more if it didn't seem to have the same kind of bug that Attack from Mars has with balls sometimes abruptly changing their direction toward between the flippers after leaving an orbit. Not that I don't play it a lot regardless.
I just read the result on facebook and said to myself, "I'll bet there are some happy people here," and went to check. Although I suppose there are unhappy people as well. It's just... people wanting Flight 2K so much. I voted for Catacomb, but I look forward to playing Flight 2K. I'm not sure I...
Thank you very much for the link. I started playing in the late '70s (even if I've never been particularly good at any pin) and am highly interested in such information.
Have you ever been confused by elements in pinball art that looks like it's presenting an event or telling a story, but you're not sure what's going on?
I can accept that sometimes, art in pinball is sometimes meant to provoke general moods and just attract players, but for some machines, the...
Probably my favorite text adventure was "Adventure", followed by what was called "Dungeon" at the time (Zork stuff). I was excited to learn Adventure was based on a real cave in Kentucky.
I just played this on the PS3. Two bugs I found were that once the ball did not catch in the multiball deposit area in the upper level but went through the whole thing.
Another bug is I noticed the music just stopped at some point after some targets were hit. I'm not sure if the following is a...
When I was a child, I was sometimes drawn to pinball machines from the name alone. Since I liked Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's _lost World_, I liked playing the pinball machine Lost World even though there was no relation. I also liked playing the Middle Earth pinball game by Atari for the same...
In the Williams Collection, some sounds were different/missing than what I remembered in the arcade. Is this still the case, or has it been changed?
In the arcade: For the left ramp, when the spinner is lit, I remember the sound was the same as for advancing to the next level in Robotron, but...
I'd like Flight 2000 and Lightning and maybe Catacomb. I'd probably like some other pins from them simulated as well although I'd need to browse ipdb to be reminded.
(on the PS3) I don't know if this is related, but I had a captive upper level ball which was ejected when I lost a ball. So, the bug behavior:
On the next ball in the game, after sending a ball into the lower playing field,
the camera didn't change to a close-up of the lower playing field...
I think my earliest introduction to pinball machines was at an arcade called Yellow Brick Road. Possibly one of the earliest ones I saw was a surfing one whose name I don't recall. This would've been in the '70s. I played various pinball machines as a young child and was pretty bad at them, but...
The ones that come to mind offhand...
Williams
Pharaoh
Time Fantasy
Firepower 2
Swords of Fury (Trivia: This game has a balrog, although I do not care for the artistic interpretation on the back glass.
On youtube, you can hear the audio for this game saying, "Lionman, defeat the balrog!")
Star...
