    Canobie Lake Pinball Parlor

That's good to know! Thanks. It's still owned by the same families and is doing really well. They've shepherded the park through some rough times and IMO it's the best amusement park in New England.

    Canobie Lake Pinball Parlor

Here's a nice article about the Pinball Parlor at Canobie Lake Amusement Park in Salem, NH. I've been there many times. For a long time, they had a rare working Hercules machine. That's gone, but the parlor has a lot of classic games...

    Pintastic New England 2021

This terrific expo was sidelined by the pandemic in 2020, and the organizers had planned to move the event to the Boston area. But to my surprise it returned to Sturbridge this past weekend. I went on Friday and had a great time: https://youtu.be/yjCqxa3nDpQ

    TPA and the notch

I recently upgrade to an iPhone 12 mini and love it. But TPA doesn't seem to like it as much. The app doesn't know there's a notch in the phone, so the top of the table and some of the displays are cut off. Does anyone think the app will get an update in the near future?

GoFundMe for the Pinball Hall of Fame Las Vegas

I was just coming here to post about this. I too wish Tim well. He's about halfway to his goal, so I hope he can get the rest of it.

    Disappearing server?

    That's good to hear. Thanks.

    No Zaccaria

I understand where you're coming from, and it can be really frustrating. On the other hand, Apple is always moving forward and has no compunction about leaving older tech in the dust. How long should they support older apps? Five years? Ten? At some point, the code will become obsolete and...

    No Zaccaria

I did get a response from the Magic Pixel team. Apple now wants all games to be written for Metal. Zaccaria for iOS was done using OpenGL, and Magic Pixel doesn't plan on recoding it from the ground up. So starting with the next version of iOS (14), Zaccaria will no longer function...

    Disappearing server?

When I launched TPA on Steam today and played a few tables, after each game I no longer saw high scores but instead a message box with the error, "The specified server could not be found." It would be a bummer if scores aren't saved locally and the TPA server is permanently offline. I hope...

    Paragon - first impressions

This is now one of the first games I launch when I play TPA. I'm kicking myself that I didn't spring for the Pro version when it was available. 3 balls just isn't enough on this table. But it's really addictive. I downloaded the VP version as well and it's a much more realistic simulation...

    Zaccaria Custom Physics settings

I haven't been able to get Zaccaria to play like other simulations. It seems to have its own unique physics. But that hasn't gotten in the way of my enjoying the tables. Graphically, they're some of the most detailed recreations I've ever seen (as high as 4k), far more visually pleasing than...

    Honey

If you can find a discarded playfield (yeah, I know -- easy, right?), all he did was get a set of multicolored LED Christmas lights and staple them to the back of the playfield so that each light was at a rollover or lens. For places where there would be a kick-out and for the return hole, he...

    Honey

When I was at Pintastic New England a few years ago, there was a vendor selling scrapped playfields that he had refurbished into wall art, mounting LED lights behind them. I got Honey (Williams, 1972). Quite a few playfield lenses were missing, and rather than replace them he simply backed the...

Zaccaria Pinball - big discounts as part of Steam summer sale!

I agree. They're a lot of fun and they do play differently than tables from other manufacturers. That said, Magic Pixel gives you an enormous amount of control over the physics of the tables. You can also set it so that there's no tilting, which helps because many of the tables are really...

    Zaccaria Pinball on iPad Problem

Thank you! That’s a bit of a pain, but it solved the crashing problem!
