Here's a nice article about the Pinball Parlor at Canobie Lake Amusement Park in Salem, NH. I've been there many times. For a long time, they had a rare working Hercules machine. That's gone, but the parlor has a lot of classic games...
This terrific expo was sidelined by the pandemic in 2020, and the organizers had planned to move the event to the Boston area. But to my surprise it returned to Sturbridge this past weekend. I went on Friday and had a great time:

I recently upgrade to an iPhone 12 mini and love it. But TPA doesn't seem to like it as much. The app doesn't know there's a notch in the phone, so the top of the table and some of the displays are cut off. Does anyone think the app will get an update in the near future?
When I launched TPA on Steam today and played a few tables, after each game I no longer saw high scores but instead a message box with the error, "The specified server could not be found." It would be a bummer if scores aren't saved locally and the TPA server is permanently offline. I hope...
When I was at Pintastic New England a few years ago, there was a vendor selling scrapped playfields that he had refurbished into wall art, mounting LED lights behind them. I got Honey (Williams, 1972). Quite a few playfield lenses were missing, and rather than replace them he simply backed the...
After all these years, I finally began exploring VPX tables. I'm not sure what took me so long. I'm really impressed with the sheer volume of tables, and the rare tables people have meticulously recreated. I've been inspired to being recreating some tables myself. I'm not keen on the vintage...
Although the native Mac version did receive a recent update, the menu system remained the same and the odd behaviors of some tables remained. For instance (and yes, I know Williams tables are no longer sold) the Black Knight table on Mac still has the same glitches as when it debuted. And the...
I was surprised to see a TPA update today. Interestingly, it's the same old interface. Big Buck Hunter appeared in my collection. It's a fun table. When I finished playing it, the app crashed. So I guess the Mac version still needs some work. But at least it hasn't been forgotten.
Wow! What a change! The new menu system is going to take me some getting used to. I previously had the tables sorted by date. But now they're sorted by ... system? There's SS, EM, Remake, Retro and Award. I love the new Retro tables (Shooting the Rapids and Farfalla). The collection of...
I finally unlocked this table, probably my favorite of the Age of Pinballs collection. I currently suck at it, but I just need to spend more time with the table. I'm really happy to be playing it again.
And BTW, I do like the redux of Farfalla. I also really like the new "retro" version of...
Magic Pixel did a nice job with this update. I like the new interface. I especially like now getting to see the entire machine cabinet. The new flipper sounds will take me a while to get used to. They're not bad, just very different. Some table sound effects have changed. Overall, I'm glad...
In the Steam version, I finally was about to grab the number 2 spot. But after time ran out on ball 6, the ball kept popping back into the plunger. I must have re-launched it 50 times. The table was dead, but the ball kept on coming. I finally had to quit the game. Calling the attendant did...
"You have got the mission." This is one of my favorite Gameprom tables. I liked the original version more; the updated version introduced some weird physics and graphic quirks. But I remember how stunned I was when I first played this table. The fresnel-lens-like ramp is visually...
This year it's July 6-8, with some great speakers lined up. It'll be in the same space, the Sturbridge Host Hotel in Sturbridge MA. Is anyone planning to go? I'll be there on Friday.

This table has got me stumped. Anyone had any luck with it? I'm currently in the top ten on several Zaccaria tables, top five in a few. My average ranking is in the 20s. After hours of playing Cine Star (curiously pronounced "Sign Star" by the table announcer), I can muster only 104th place...
This was the first table from Gameprom, and one of the first games I ever got for my first iPhone. It featured all the traits that would become Gameprom staples: the bell triggering the start of "missions"; the flashing arrows directing you what to hit next; upper rollovers that trigger bonus...
Well, I'll open this sub-forum with talk about my favorite Gameprom table, and one of the greatest digital tables I've ever played: DaVinci. I never would have thought of having a pinball table based upon the great Italian scientist and draftsman, but in retrospect it was a perfect choice. The...
With the number of original tables they've created, I think Gameprom deserves their own sub-forum here. Their first trio of tables (Wild West, The Deep and Jungle Style) were solid entries and had designs that I could imagine being made into real tables. Since then, they've headed in a more...
