Great to see the passion here, I think we're all in the same boat of wanting the physics to be as close to real pinball as possible. To me, the flippers feel better now but the ball movement has become too predictable. I would rather they keep continually refining all the physics than "locking...
Played all 3 tables from the new pack, my initial thoughts:
NGG: Much more fun than I was expecting, at first look the table looks a bit boring but there's some satisfying shots.
ToTAN: Feels a bit easy to me, looks quite nice although it's never been one of my favourites.
CV: A treat for the...
Watching the Twitch stream, Deep was responsible for CV and said he tried to improve the lighting. I thought it was noticeably better, can't wait to try it.
Agree about the lighting, would so love an update. And Fish Tales does look nicer than all the other tables to me.
New physics are brilliant, the flippers have a little "give" in them which just feels right. A few air balls would add to the realism too 😉
Small points I would love to see...
Good tips there, I found a good way to hit Creature is if the ball is coming from left orbit at pace, just hold left flipper up and it backhands straight in. This happens if you hit the spinner cleanly, for instance.
I found getting the Achievement (Trophy in my case) easy on Classic Arcade...
I feel a bit out of touch asking but am I right in thinking there are new physics in the 2 tables released Tuesday? Or is it that they will have the same physics as the last pack?
Thanks
That's exactly how I feel, really didn't think I'd be playing Hurricane but I keep coming back to it! I think it's the decent lighting, the simple but engaging rules and the fact it feels realistic to an actual pin. I do hate the music though
I agree the physics aren't quite there. Have you played Pro Pinball: Timeshock! - The ULTRA Edition? That has the most realistic physics in my opinion. Not to mention the excellent lighting 😊
From the main designer: 'And yes, the balls do indeed bounce up from the posts It was something I saw happening all the time on the real table, even with quite slow moving balls, and was absolutely a feature I wanted to add in here.'
Awesome!
I was going to ask the same question. Happened a few times.
And I agree about FT, looks the best of them all to me. Even feels the most realistic to me too.
Yep, this is how I feel too. Trouble is, now my taste buds have been spoilt by the new challenging physics I can't face playing the old tables knowing that each game will last sooo long. So if they could add the physics to the back catalogue... Would be awesome.
