Thank you for the reply.
Though redoing the work with a new camera would surely improve the resolution of the table's textures, it's the compression which is a bigger problem in my opinion.
Of course the source images may be that compressed (you would know better than me) but it seems like...
I don't know what AMD are using at "24x Supersampling" because it will certainly not be 24x.
That sounds like a combination of MSAA+Supersampling similar to NVIDIA's "32xS" which is 2x2 SSAA plus 8xMSAA. (16xS = 2x2 SSAA + 4x MSAA)
2x2 SSAA would be equivalent to the backbuffer being 2x your...
What is your backbuffer resolution set to?
I am using 1080p and every table is locked to 60 FPS with 4x MSAA (quality 100) and 16x anisotropic filtering.
I'm on Windows 8.1 and my PC only has a 570 rather than a 680.
As far as the game is concerned, G-Sync just means that V-Sync is disabled...
Most (all?) DirectX 11 applications do not support MSAA injection. Those options typically only apply to DirectX 9 and older titles, or OpenGL.
The fix here is to increase the backbuffer resolution as Alex suggests. If you use 3840x2160 on a 1920x1080 screen, that is effectively 4x...
As much as I would like to see higher resolution artwork if it exists, I would also like to see far less texture compression or even an option for uncompressed textures.
Tables like Cirqus Voltaire are particularly bad for this, with ugly JPEG-like artifacts on objects in plain view such as the...
The "post-processing" option to enable lighting was available on my iPad. Anything physics related are either intentional tweaks that will almost certainly be coming to the other platforms, or side-effects of moving to another version of the engine.
It's not like they're rebuilding the tables...
Ah but you're thinking in terms of old physical media. On iTunes if I bought a film in 720p, I can now download the 1080p version for free.
I bought 128K AAC files and I now get 256K downloads for free. (previously they charged a nominal fee for this)
Even with physical media, I was able to...
When I buy on Steam, I get the Windows, Mac, and Linux versions of a game.
When I had a PS3, I bought Portal 2 and it came with a Steam copy of the game. (Win/Mac/Linux)
More and more PS3 games come with a Vita copy of the game, and Sony let you upgrade your PS3 games to the PS4 versions.
If I...
Which is the default setting.
You can honestly look at the examples posted and say that the image should be as blurred as it is?
Disabling post-processing shows you how SGSSAA should look.
It still doesn't render correctly though, blurring the image, and is a significant performance hit.
High quality anti-aliasing should not be blurring the image.
You are mistaken: http://www.nvidia.com/object/coverage-sampled-aa.html
This is common when people enable SGSSAA without using the correct compatibility bits - then it will blur the image considerably. Enabling SGSSAA should not...
It's still not rendering correctly and significantly blurs the table graphics though. The only way I've found to avoid that is to disable post-processing, and 00C1 is the only setting I found which did not alter the color of the graphics as a result of blurring them. (though 00C1 does not render...
I don't have an AMD card so I can't say if they behave differently, but Nvidia removed the 0 option because that actually just lets the game handle the queue size - and is typically set to 3 by default. You probably want to set it to 1 rather than 0.
I don't recommend setting it to 1 globally...
That sucks. I thought the reason Pinball Arcade was on everything was because you were getting a cross-platform license for the tables.
It shouldn't when implemented properly, but some games require compatibility bits to be set to render correctly.
Normally I just do a search to see what the...
More on the anti-aliasing:
32xCSAA+TrAA:
8xSGSSAA:
4K downsampled with no AA:
Unfortunately, it looks like we will have to stick with MSAA for now. (CSAA is an MSAA variant)
Using supersampling really blurs the image.
4K rendering looks a lot better (less aliasing without blurring the...
Is there any way to restore tables from other platforms on this?
I purchased most/all of Season One on my account, and all of Season One & Two for my father as well, but recently sold my iPad and would like to move over to the PC version.
Working on Windows 8.1 with a wireless 360 controller...
