So the framerate issue seems like a glitch to me. The tables start off nice and smooth until the camera transitions to a bonus mode or mini game and then when it goes back to the main table it is never the same again... stuttery, awful, gameplay and immersion ruining. At least that gives me hope...
The Oculus Quest 2 version is... ass. Don’t bother unless they make some substantial improvements to the table clarity and framerate. It indeed looks and plays much, much worse than Pinball FX2.

I’m with you. I’m thrilled that digital pinball is still being developed at such high quality by a professional studio and I’m happy to pay the price to support the company that is bringing us this content. It’s really not all that expensive for how much entertainment I get out of...
Well, just keep playing your Pinball FX3 tables you currently own and the only thing you’ll be missing out on is the slightly improved visuals and classic physics options. You don’t really need to repurchase them to keep enjoying them. Then from there you’d be buying the new tables that come out...
Yeah, I’m no longer worried about a forced subscription model being a thing... and if they introduce one as an option, then that’s good for people who maybe aren’t as big of enthusiasts as us and want that option to mess around with all of the tables a month at a time.
All I needed to hear is that VR support for the new FX is “on the roadmap” and that it sounds like they will be releasing a Williams VR Collection of tables sooner than that similar to the Star Wars VR set. I don’t mind repurchasing tables, especially as I’m going to be switching platforms from...
I don’t think any pinball tables out there would require more than a T rating for suggestive sexual themes or alcohol use, and do many parents out there even care or know about the difference between an E10+ and T rated game? Such a small distinction.
Yeah, I really don’t mind buying the tables again either. I’ve always looked at it like $3.50 in a pinball museum or bar would get me fifteen minutes with a table, whereas a digital table costs that much to play as much as I like... even cheaper if I wait to buy some of the packs during sales...
7. VR! VR is totally happening with more info on it “very soon.” Probably next month. But then I doubt we’ll see any footage that early, so I guess we’re really just looking at a more official announcement and hopefully some details.
I don’t see any reason why new features that cater to new audiences will take anything away from people who want traditional pinball simulation. Both audiences can be served. They already announced that they will be adding the classic physics as an option to the Zen original tables, which they...
A lot of people complain enough already over paying a few bucks for unlimited play of a digital table. The ideas being tossed around here regarding paying for digital tokens would be absolute suicide in the console and PC markets. I’d “nope” out of that hard myself too. I wouldn’t hate the idea...
Well, no reason they can’t and shouldn’t serve both. They did announce that the Williams Classic physics will be available for the Zen tables as an option as well this time around, so that’s rad. If I just want to play some gimmick free pinball with prettier graphics in VR while somebody else is...
Mel already told us a VR announcement is coming in February on the 1up podcast last month and reaffirmed that a VR announcement would be coming “soon” today in the Reddit discussion (while hyping up how nice the Quest 2 is and telling a user that it “has to happen” on PSVR). It’s a sure thing...
Grooooan, announcements of announcements of announcements for something coming eventually. My pinballs are so blue.
Looks like we’re essentially getting the next version of Pinball FX though that will probably have the VR support I covet built right in, so it’s all good. Anybody else a little...
Man, switching locations to the strip is a real bummer from a local’s perspective. I hate the strip and will be much less inclined to visit having to deal with all of that hassle. Still, it makes sense to get all of that tourist foot traffic, and I wish him well.
I’m not down on Zen at all. Farsight pushed out more tables at a quicker rate, sure, but they were also janky, lower quality efforts that never got much support after the initial release... and so many empty promises from the studio just tanked my respect for them. I quite frankly have a hard...
