Diner is pretty racist. Think that will hurt its chances?

Since Taxi is out, Diner goes hand in hand with it.

But Diner is pretty racist, and full of stereotypes. Great table though.

Diner is not racist. Diner is awesome. The only annoying thing about Diner is "Would you please-a pass to me-a the..." It gets really annoying when you hear it many times in a row. Other than that, it's great.

I think that if you're throwing out strong statements like that, you should offer more material to back up that claim, especially for people who never played Diner.

Haji and Pepe are just racial stereotypes, with really stereotypical accents.

Who cares?!? People are too uptight about these things. Thank God for comedians through the years that don't take life too seriously, otherwise the PC people would take over and our society would be too bland.

Speaking of Taxi, it's looking like a really good idea in hindsight that Chris Granner left the Indian passenger (voiced by himself) from the final build. It'd have aged pretty horrifically in these modern times.

I don't think Diner is racist at all. Just because there are characters speaking with accents doesn't make something racist..

AFM (German, French, Italian) , CV (the ringmaster) and also Dracula in MB have strong accents. And TOTAN is full of stereotypes ;)

We müst protekt ze Brandenbürger Toor!

Yeah, there are quite a lot of stereotypes in pinball games, as with any media. The question is how harmful it is. The discussion about the dutch tradition around Zwarte Piet is interesting, for example (and I don't have enough insight into it to have a solid opinion, for the record).

I think the problems start when things become too one-sided, or how mean-spirited they are. From what I can tell, Diner uses a lot of different stereotypes, so it's not just like "oh, those simple-minded foreigners!" (Again, that's my assumptions judging from the table art, it would be a more interesting discussion if we had actual voice quotes.)

Sadly, nowadays it seems that almost anything can be seen as racist or offensive in some form. We have become a culture that loves to be offended. The media is mostly responsible for this. Even if you aren't offended, the media wants to know WHY?! "What type of person are you that you aren't offended by blatant prejudice and racism?? HMM?? Well you must be a racist. More news at 6. Log on to our facebook app to find out how to be more easily offended." /end rant

Champion Pub, Medieval Madness, Attack From Mars, Taxi, and Whitewater all have stereotypical voice acting, and they were released. So I don't think Diner will be a problem.
