Free Gold Watch

Did my visit to Free Gold Watch today, and caught up with forum member Mario (Mayuh) Kaufmann.

So many pins there, including a BK2K, Firepower 2 (which is a helluva lotta fun), a BoP with full LED kit and bespoke topper, and a Demolition Man with LEDs.

They also have a WoZ Limited, which was the first time I played this table. Ever. Ho-ly sheeeeets! This game really has changed pinball. Ah-may-zing! Got a decent 126K score on it as well (had multiball and 3 modes running according to Mayuh, but I would not have known it was just ablaze with light and sound).

Great score on Woz! I loved WoZ the first 10 times I played it, then I realized, I cannot do anything on this table. I played 25+ games so far and can't keep a ball going. Played it a few more times this past week in Vegas, all outlane...all the time. Humph.

I tried to like Firepower 2 when I played it in Texas, but I want to know how the hell they could've made a sequel without speech! Unless it was a problem with the machine I played specifically... but it bummed me out when there was zero talky at all

It's a shame that trips to the US are basically the only times us Aussies have a chance to play machines like WOZ on location. Our distance from the US sucks.

Yep, no speech board at all. I don't know why either, because the advances in board tech in FP 2 would have made it possible to put more speech in if they wanted to.

I do however like the huge speaker blowing noise right into your ears.

Yeah, it's a bloody fantastic place. It is a little more intimate than PPM, so I went back there twice (on the Thursday arvo when I was killing time until the trip home).
