How's The Pinball Scene By You?

Even though TPA is a blast and a half, nothing can beat the real deal. I live in central NJ, so it's kind of a mixed bag—the Silverball Museum Arcade isn't terribly far away (an hour and 6 minutes if Google Maps is to be believed), but for some inexplicable reason, many fairly high-profile pins (including BK2K, CFTBL and Taxi) are nowhere to be found in the state, at least according to Pinball Rebel. However, I am still very new to the pinball scene, so I just might not know where to find them yet. Anyway, how easy (or not) is it to find good real pinball by you?

I saw a Ripley's Believe it or Not machine at the Atlantis Casino Hotel in Reno , as I was passing by to the BBQ Rib cookoff , didn't look like it was plugged in . Outside of that, I have seen no pinball machines locally in this part of Nevada . Wish i could have gotten up close to that machine and seen it better .

What pinball scene? The nearest table that I know of is about 40 miles away in western super mare, Barry island or porthcawl. I live in Newport, south Wales/uk so if anyone knows of any tables in my area please let me know.

Not too bad here in Auckland. Got following on location machines nearby:
T2, LOTR, CV, TZ, TFTC, TSPP, IJ:TPA, MM, RS, TOTAN, TOM...
Also newly joined a local league-Monthly meets at collectors' places:
First guy last month had the most AMAZING gamesroom I've EVER seen 40+ TOP DMD games (+ Funhouse, EATPM, Banzai Run...) WOW! Guess I'm pretty blessed :)

Northern Massachusetts/southern New Hampshire (especially the latter) seems like surprisingly fertile pinball territory, in general. Not everyone's machines are well-maintained, but they exist, and Pinball Wizard in Pelham, NH is legendary (I hope to visit the place soon).

Truthfully, it sucks! I've downloaded the pinfinder app and it shows that various locations around me have 1 table, but they all seem to be Stern's Nascar!!

There's only one pinball table within 30 miles or so from me D:

Luckily it's The Getaway so at least I'm not putting money into a dud table :)

ok, so last night i finally managed to get some time (and cold hard cash) to go and play some rl pinball again, yay

anyway, here are the tree tables, that are in a pool room/house/bar/whatever-its-called on Parmova street (some 20 mins with a bicycle from my house) in Ljubljana, Slovenia... there are always 3 tables available that are in top condition (no weak flippers, no broken toys/features)... well the photos are crap, but so is my phones camera

i played no fear a bunch throughout the years, so it didn't get any love from me last night... good table though

was very excited to see a junkyard table in rl, i only played it in vp about 10 years ago... gotta say it plays cool, and is maybe a bit generous with the extra balls... will definitely play it more in coming weeks... and gotta say i found it particulary funny that there is a mamushka mode from addams family (complete with the dmd animation and music) and an attack from mars video game mode

and indianapolis 500... same as with junkyard never played it in rl, but can't really comment on the gameplay becouse by the time it way indys turn i was just too smashed to have proper control of the ball ... seemed harder than junkyard and somehow the playfiled and art seem older than junkyard also... despite the fact that both were made in 95

also worth mentioning that both junkyard and indy had a lot (nearlly all) of bulbs replaced with led's...

btw, the bright lighted thing to the right of indianapolis 500 table is the lost ark... if anyone is wondering

I'm lucky enough to have Tim Arnold's pinball museum in Vegas... it's always full of people of all ages and skill levels, so I'd say the scene is as good as it can be.

Yep, you're a lucky bastard to have that in your back yard! Then again, my wallet wouldn't survive if I had the PHOF at my access. Sometimes I'm grateful for being separated by a 3 1/2 hour drive!!

Oh, and by the way, there is something about Junkyard I find irresistible even though I've only played it a couple of times. It might be the wrecking ball toy. All I know is when I think of favorite tables, that one always pops up in my mind, with no real good reason to back that up!

Haven't seen a pinball table in real life in like ten years.

Just did a search and found there's a TZ, Batman, and Tales from the Crypt in like-new condition at mini-golf about 10 minutes from my house!

I might not have to take that overflowing jar of change to the bank after all...

I always get suckered in by the toys on Junkyard too. It isn't a great pin & the DMD animations aren't spectacular. But I can't resist a table with a wrecking ball and a toilet on it. It's very satisfying getting that wrecking ball to swing madly.

No I haven't. That is a wild looking table.
I think Southpark has a toilet too.

Oddly enough, one of my local arcades has 3 pinball machines, 2 of which are Austin Powers and Southpark, and yes both have toilets.....so I guess the owner has some kind of fascination with toilets. The 3rd machine is The X-files, which basically plays like a giant toilet, so I guess it's fitting as well.
