Anyone seen it, or if you haven't, do you plan to see it? I thought it was pretty fun. I'm a bit hung up on a few of the story bits, so if anyone wants to toss theories around, post away.

I saw it Saturday, in IMAX. I've never seen a full-length IMAX movie before, and it was quite an experience. The picture, sure, it's nice, but the sound system... wow. (I'd love to pipe BK2K through an IMAX sound system. Might blow up my ears. But I digress - back to the movie....)

My biggest gripe is the obvious paradox presented by the way it ends.

Oh, and some of the mistakes that the characters make in making an early decision that affects the rest of the movie - it's not like they don't go on and on about the time dilation effects of extreme gravity, yet they don't figure it's affecting the main reason they make that decision? Yikes.

The whole Earth-as-a-dustbowl concept isn't too well covered either.

Okay, I'm nitpicking. Overall it's epic and grand and so on but as for making you think and brain-bending physics that some reviewers will have you believe, it's not really. Pretty straight story with a telegraphed twist.

The effects and sound/music was excellent, but the story is weak and not very convincing. Especially at the beginning I had a hard time liking this movie. He drives around in a car and just happen to end up in a secret Nasa centre where he is immediately selected to operate a rocket into a wormhole.. hello! Too much hollywood for me. And it features the most ugly looking robot in cinema history! Matthew McConaughey is a good actor but he talks the whole movie like he's just out of bed after a night of drinking. If you like this sort of movies, Kubrick's 2001 is so much deeper. (To think that movie is 46 years old!)
It is worth the watch, and it's original but not sure if I want to see it again.

I enjoyed this movie until the ending with the blackhole scene... that part was just to unreal for me, as a real blackhole would rip you into a million pieces...

To be fair, it was pretty clear that the black hole was artificial. But yeah. You should actually be ripped apart long before you even get to the event horizon.

I'm shooting for out of context quote of the year.

I liked it. The paradox ending thing did bug me but I left the theater feeling different than I walked in and that's all I want out of a movie.

I thought it was pretty terrible. There's roughly a million plot holes, the effects look incredibly dated and belong in the 80s, etc. And I thought some of the acting was laughably terrible.

I also thought some of the effects were on the cheesy side, but I still enjoyed it, even though the plot holes are rather big.
