Exactly, this Kickstarter is making me much more nervous than I thought it would. I mean, if a Farsight KS fails, at least we still have the regular table DLC... But this one is pretty much all-or-nothing. I hope they promote this thing well. Does anybody know: If a Kickstarter project doesn´t make it, can you just set up the same one again, just with a lower goal? I would think they have some sort of waiting period on that. By the way, light sliders for TPA sound great too :) Yeah, I hope so. No way they should let something like this demo just rot away on a shelf. Has anybody ever seen something similar? I know they use similar kind of lighting tech demos for big graphic cards, but this here is a very clever way to code around the limitations of the iPad. And I´m certainly no expert, but maybe this prerendered engine still leaves a lot of room for the physics engine? Trying to do a similar thing with polygons on the iPad would eat through the resources like crazy, and probably not look even half as good. Reminds me a bit of how the german developer Shin'en used prerendered video to produce fantastic graphics on the Gameboy Advance.
