Earlier today I was thinking that the Oculus Rift may be the ultimate pinball peripheral. For those that don't know about it, it's a head-mounted screen that is used for VR applications. It's not out yet, but the developer version has been released and people are going crazy over it. This thing pulled in a ton of money through Kickstarter, and people are really excited.
Think about it - your table would be in 3D. You can see the table, back glass and dot matrix screen by moving your head. I'm not sure, but maybe it would even be possible to shift your head left or right to see a different perspective of the table. Forget an expensive table that uses multiple monitors and takes up a bunch of room, this would be the ultimate way to play virtual pinball.
