Companies don't typically announce that a license they have, which they want to renew, is about to run out, until after negotiations for renewal have broken down. Because anything else really wouldn't make much sense.

As for being casual, what are they supposed to do? They're a business. Throwing a giant social media tantrum isn't really an option for them. It's ****ty news, but they had to convey it in a sensible manner.

This isn't a defense of FarSight. It's pretty much common sense.
