I've been a mod on several boards going back to the BBS days and I've always seen a correlation between the commonality of the members off the boards with their behavior on the boards. The more in common a group has in real life then the better behaved they are on the boards. So the sporting group that I am a mod of the forum and past board member of the club, has never had to ban anyone on the forum in over ten years (except for spammers). I attribute this to the fact that the core group all know each other in real life and have a lot in common. What surprises me with this group is that the group as a whole only has two things in common. One is a love of pinball and the second is that we all live on earth. You can really throw out the second one because other than a few people on the space station everyone who is on the Internet lives on earth. So, while it is disappointing that some people have to be banned, it is also heartwarming that the rest of us get along so well. The magic of pinball? I think yes.</blockquote>
