If you didn't see, the PHOF just purchased a new site on the south end of The Strip (for 4.6 million) to build a massive new facility.

Tim Arnold says he has over 800 machines in storage so might as well get them where they can be played (current site has about 250 machines).

Don't know the timeline, but sounds exciting to me. I know he has (or had) a complete Gottlieb collection, I look forward to more EM's, in addition to whatever other old or newer machines you can think of. He also has Pinball Circus (only two made). Over a 1000 pinball machines at one place....i hope they get started soon.

I'm glad they are getting a new place. The current location look like a derelict building on the outside, and the inside wasn't much better apart from the sight of lots of pinball. The first location I really liked. Nice storefront, windows, casino carpeting, and the machines were lined up nicely by category. So hopefully this new location that will be built specific to their needs will capture a bit of style once more. I mean if it's on the strip, it damn well better.

4.6 mil???!!! Good news, more space. Bad news, 5 bucks per credit. Jeebus, is there some kind of stipend for being a museum or something?

Tim has never overcharged for playing. It’s a non-profit business and other than maintenance costs, profits get donated. Most expensive machine used to be Pinball Circus at a buck a play. Sterns were 50 cents, everything else was a quarter. Been 5 or more years since I’ve been, but that’s what it was then.

“5 bucks per credit” was a joke. I thought it was exaggerated enough to be obvious. Come to think of it, the price per credit at a Dave ‘n Busters ain’t very far off, so, my bad.

Let’s try again. Good news, more space. Bad news, 10 grand per credit.

In the case of all those “wood rails” I would go there just to *see* the tables IRL: Actually playing them would be a bonus!

Perhaps they’ll have an area mapped out in the new place consisting of the tables from 1940 through 1979 (I assume many of these have been in storage.) For that area only you would pay a single coverage charge and then play whatever table you want if its up. This is a model adopted by a lot of “Retrocades” these days and seems to work well. The allure would be to just be able to see these older tables and read about their history. Ya’ know: Like a museum!

The HOF is the only place I stopped by in Vegas the one time I passed through (would’ve played some poker, but was in the process of moving across the country so didn’t want to fall into a money pit lol). Glad to see it’s on the upswing.
