Pinball is Alive In Brisbane!

To my shock, there is an active pinball league in Brisbane! They base themselves out of the Timezone arcade in Albert Street in the city.

Their next tournament is on the 26th January (the Australia Day public holiday).

$15 entry ($5 tournament kitty and $10 all you can play pass from 6 pm to 12 am).

I'm going to do all I can to get there for it, and will report back.

Well thats that then. I'm making my own pinball tournament in Newtown and will start my own thread where I get drunker and drunker throughout the day. Bonus is that the last pub has beer holders attached to all the machines.

What machines do they have there?

There's a somewhat active tournament "scene" in Melbourne, but it only consists of mainly one (but another smaller one has popped up in the last few months) meeting at a pub that has two machines. Thankfully one of the managers there also manages the league, so machines are frequently rotated... currently sitting on Metallica LE/Prem and Star Trek pro.

First Monday of every month (though this month's is on the 13th) at Peacock Inn in Northcote. If you're a Melbourne (or Geelong) PAF member, come along! They're charging $5 starting this year, so I'm not sure if the prizes are any different from last (6 pack for highest score, slab for winning). Still, a great bunch of people who love their pinball and always seem to have a lot of fun without taking it too seriously.

What machines do they have there?

I'm going to go and find out the answer to that question very shortly. Just about to head to lunch.

They have:
1. AC/DC Standard Edition
2. Big Hurt
3. Elvis (STERN)

Big Hurt is looking very dirty, and the huge impact hole in the playfield isn't great either.

Elvis is looking a little dirty (bit of a blurry shot)...

AC/DC was being played at the time, but looks to be working OK.

That part is bare wood. Mylar is the peeled bit near the slings. That is why it's copped a flogging.

Turns out the guy running the league is an ex-Replay employee, and recognized me immediately. There is hope!

We also had Fast Break when it was released as well.

"It's only pinball". Licenses and localized themes are arbitrary ;-)

Today is the day!

Been playing some of the mobile tournament and I've been doing really well.

Hopefully it is an omen.

I'll be taking pics galore. Hopefully there is a random pin there like there was a few months ago.
