Pipeline Bar London- 94 Middlesex Street, E17DA
www.thepipelinebar.co.uk

Was hoping to have uploaded some pictures by now of Pipeline bar in London, got there just now and it doesn't open till 4pm on a Saturday!
Having a quick brew with the misses at Costa round the corner, then will nip back, least I can do after dragging her halfway across London for it!

Could see a Twilight Zone, White Water, Scared Stiff, Adams Family, ACDC and Metallica.
Must be lucky as their website says they change games regularly.

Only 50p a play too, less then 5 mins from Liverpool Street station

Say hi to Thomas (the owner, Swedish bloke, tidy player) from me. He's stocky, quite young (30s?) but has white hair. Nice bloke.

Will you be coming to Daventry next weekend? I can't wait. There will be over 100 machines there all on free play (£10 to get in on the door per day. Maybe £12 this year I dunno)

Will upload some pics tomorrow, unfortunately the ACDC and World Cup were down due to maintenance, as was the Metallica, they wouldn't put that on as it didn't take coins!

Did get to play the other games though -
Adams family, a little bit rough around the edges (worn sides, loose left flipper button) but in better condition then the one I played at Vegas HOF, great game, can't wait for TPA version
Scared Stiff, great table, perfect condition and managed to get crate multiball
White Water - Superb condition, polished chrome and LED's, locked 2 balls but couldn't get the multiball (doh)
Twilight Zone - Super condition, seemed slightly EASIER in real life, and managed to get the Powerball! Called the gf over to show her, then managed to drain straight away DOH.

Overall highly recommended would have been nice to have had all the machines working, but any pinball is better then no pinball! Will try and upload some pics tomorrow.

Yep going to Daventry, second year in a row. Funny thing was that after last year we said we wouldn't go again, then when it came round and we saw they're going to have a Wizard of Oz it seemed rude not to!

I'll be in London for a week starting tomorrow. Hope I manage to get my GF to spend some time in The Pipeline Bar. :)
Are there any other pinball relevant places in and around Central London worth a visit?

Last time I was there the superdry shop on regent street had a fishtales and another pin I can't remember, both on free play. The casino on Tottenham court road had a LOTR. No guarantee they are still there though.

Always wanted to visit this place if I was in London. There's a great pinball arcade near me in Glasgow with eight pins, but there are no Williams or Ballys.

Dude, if you're in Glasgow you should get yourself down to HMV, apparently there's a dozen or so in there, all great titles, by a local operator called Paisley Pinball. Maybe call up HMV or google paisley pinball and call him to check I'm not imagining it before heading down there

Oh, and @bonzo, you're in luck, as this weekend (18th and 19th) the place will be chock full of pinheads for a league meet and a charity comp organised by Matt Vince whose daughter was born with hydrocephalus. He's trying to lose weight (from 25stone 4lb so should be possible!) and I think there's gonna be extra titles in there for the comp, a new Star Trek if I remember right, and some more I think. I'm out in HK or I'd be there like a shot, great social occasion with loads of top people gonna be in there. Hopefully someone will update this thread with info, as I know Matt wants as big a turnout as poss.

@kevlar?

That was the arcade I was referring to! There are eight currently, but I'm pretty sure every HMV in Scotland has a few. The Glasgow Buchanan Street branch is the flagship one for pinball, though.

Here is some info about this weekend at the pipeline:

With the weekend fast approaching, I thought it would be a good idea to let you know what we have in store for you on Saturday!!

We have the Shine Charity Pinball Comp (sponsored by Pinball Heaven) which will consist of players choosing 6 machines to play from a bank of 8. The top 16 will qualify for the knock-out stages with the top 3 all receiving trophies and prizes as well as the best female and Junior players.

We will also be holding a side competition on Stern's latest offering Star Trek! This will be a high score style format with each entrant getting a turn to post their score. However, additional attempts may be made at improving your score via a £1 donation to the charity fund. Only each players best score will count and this comp will run until the finish of the main competition. There will be trophies for the top 3 scores.

The machines at the event will be:

Star Trek
Family Guy
AC/DC Premium
Monster Bash
Attack from Mars
Fish Tales
Twilight Zone
World Cup Soccer
Judge Dredd
Road Show
Getaway - High Speed 2
BS Dracula
Addams Family

Plus a couple more if i have time to make another trip!! This means that there will be machines available on free play for those finished in the comps or just looking to have a bit of practice. Also, after the completion of the comps, raffle draw and prize giving all of the machines will be left on free play for the rest of the evening. (these will also be the machines used for the London & SE league meet on the Sunday)

Thanks to the generosity of people within the community, we have a great selection of raffle prizes available too, so it should be a great day!

If you haven't already registered for this event, you can do so by donating £20 to the Shine charity here: http://www.justgiving.com/Shed4Shine Under16's are free as are those registered with the charity! If you are unable to make a donation online, please feel free to attend on the day and pay at the door.

The event starts at Midday at the Pipeline bar, Middlesex Street, London, E1 7DA.
