I'd love the option for portrait mode to make use of the whole screen. I'd also like a full top-down view without the cabinet visible with no scrolling, I'd maybe then have a stab at some kind of cabinet just for playin' Pinball Arcade on.

Going from my experience on Pinball Hall of Fame plus the promise of many great tables for download there's a lot to look forward to and the above would be the icing on the cake.

This'd be great for installing a flatscreen into a pinball table shell. Wire up the buttons to bumpers and the plunger to the analog stick and boom, real virtual pinball :)

BUMP.

Would love to see a portrait mode on 360. Must be really simple feature for them to add. Makes perfect sense to use as much of the screen possible when playing.

I would really like this too. It looked SO great on the android but my big hands would always cover the flippers, with a controller and that view it would be glorious!

I personally can't wait for a portrait mode with optional second or third monitor support. I built a MAME cabinet myself and now I want a virtual pinball cabinet.
Just not thrilled about building another custom PC and running VirtualPinball for cost and software quality.
I'd rather have 10 of the best tables from FarSight on my cab with a plug and play xbox or ps3 then a 1000 subpar ones. Really looking forward to this and nice to know its on the FarSight radar.

Excellent question, because I don't think you do! I would think the only way would be a peripheral, just do it on the PC.

Ok, cause I'm not aware of any display cables that allow multiple different outputs on Xbox 360. PC on the other hand is definitely doable.

Mike, it would be great to allow multi-monitor output on PC- One for the table, one for the back glass, and one for the DMD. But it would be really amazing if you could also support real DMD output http://pindmd.com/

You should also check out this incredibly detailed pinmame build:

He's even added extra LED flashing lights, relays, and weighted shakers to give it that added authentic feel.

That is definitely very cool.

To achieve this I think you would have to do something similar to Forza Motorsport, three monitors and three 360s working together. Not very practical in my opinion. Still, I would love to have a rotated view on the 360 so long as the view is actually zoomed in on the table like in Visual pinball and not some arbitrary distance away. If my monitor screen IS the table I certainly do not need the effect of me looking down at a cabinet since that is precisely what I will be doing by looking down at my monitor....

I did some research and saw how Forza does it. It would seem to me to be cheaper to build a moderate PC than to buy 3 Xbox 360's. =)

Am i right in say that a single PS3 can output to 2 displays? Must admit though this sort of thing may only be feasible for a PC. Im fortunate enough to have built a PinCab myself so i would welcome a 2 or 3 screen option for the PC version. Heres a vid of my cab playing Tales From The Crypt, sorry about the quality....

Xbox 360 Pivot mode

The game already supports a multitude of aspect ratios across platforms so I wonder if it would be possible to add support for a vertical monitor in the Xbox 360 version

This would be awesome, imagine even being able to use multiple consoles to manage multiple screens like in the Forza games...expensive i know but best solution if you don't have a PC
