Yup. As a long time member who barely posts anymore, I'd actually like to ask some REAL questions and get some REAL answers. And I'm not talking about the "what's the next game" stuff either. I wouldn't even bother with that.
On the other hand, I guess I can see why limiting it to the mods keeps the insane amount of.......nope, nope. I can't even spew this. After over four years of being on here, FarSight, just answer some questions to the few hardcore you have on this forum. There's not that many on here for crying out loud. It's not like Facebook where EVERYONE has an account.
I don't know where this game is going but I have an idea. I see them eeeeking out another season of TPA on ios, android and whatever other platforms they think they can get to. Afterwards, working with Stern on scattered releases throughout the year seems to be the future. Gary made it known quite a while ago that he was interested in digital releases on their games and I applaud this. YES! I applaud this. New pinball machines are insanely expensive and if there's a way to bring them to the digital platforms (especially PC, PS4 and XBONE), please do. Even at ten bucks, it will be worth it, as long as the code is updated and the quality is there.
Mobile? That's tough. Even the latest tablets will have a hard time with the lighting effects and emulating the Spike System. Not saying they can't do it. Just saying, at ten bucks a table, I'd want the game to light up like there was no other ambient lighting in the room. That would be tough for the mobiles.
Ask them "Would a line output converter help take their sound quality to a higher level?", basically all they have to do is desolder the speaker and put the converter in it's place to record the signal as it's sent versus how it's heard in a room and how good their microphone is[nt] at picking up full range sound.
Just because they [sometimes] emulate the roms doesn't mean you can emulate the soundboards that came on them, MAME has this issue needing external soundpacks too.
