on the pro menu options is a "feature" to steer the ball around the table. What is the purpose of this feature ? the only thing this brings to mind is a childs portable pinball game and the child gets bored and starts tipping the toy different ways to "control" the ball. Am i missing something here as i can't see how this "feature" relates to real arcade pinball. In order to reproduce this in an arcade you would need to be operating the table with playfield glass removed and moving the ball around with your hands.

It's good for testing, especially (as Carl says) for modes that might be difficult/annoying to have to reach legitimately. But it's not something that I use in general play.

The most useful, I think, is when you want to practice a mode you can skip playing up to that point and just practice the mode.

It's akin to "glass off" mode on a real pinball. Why would you want to do that? To get hit with a ball between the eyes (who hasn't had a ball slam so hard it jumped and hit the glass?).

Sometimes it's just you're bored and want to see "what would happen if..." or to try to get the final mode of the machine. Or be able to see what the goal of the current mode is without having to keep your eyes on the balls.
