The Flintstones references CFBL?!

I saw in a video of The Flintstones pinball (based on the movie) that one of the animations showed a man at a till/windowed counter then it switches to another guy who I think yells "That's a rip off!" (off topic: I love finding things in a machine that say "rip off") and then has star like eyes and uses a punching glove on a spring. I'm 99.9% certain that this is the same guy in Creature From the Black Lagoon who yells "Move your car!" (off topic: love that mode!) with pretty much the same sprite and star like eyes. I just thought that was cool. :D

Here's a link to the video of The Flintstones pinball I watched (the guy is at about the 0:52 mark):

There are about 6 or 7 machines that reference CFTBL's "Move Your Car" mode, the Flintstones being one of them. (Theatre of Magic is another - make three shots during "Hat Magic" and pay attention when the assistant picks up the phone.)

Yes...

"Move Your Car!" and CFTBL in general is a running gag in lots of releases.
- Judge Dredd contains the Safecracker mode (wake up the man sleeping in front of the safe) which is inspired by MYC; also, an entire Supergame mode revolves around a traffic jam... the person's response to MYC there is (i think) throwing a sword at the person driving the car's head; the person arrested for arms dealing is your date from CFTBL
- The Flintstones contained the reference above.
- World Cup Soccer has the person who says "Stay cool, daddy-o" make an appearance during Where's Striker
- Theatre of Magic, during Hat Magic mode, third shot up the trunk causes the woman to pull out a phone from the hat - it sounds a muffled MYC
- Congo, during Satellite Transfer, features the MYC and "Here's your hot dog" quotes after enough hits, also featured is the duck quack from The Shadow
- Indianapolis 500, during Wrong Turn mode, one of the animations for increasing switch value has the Indy car driving down a crowded highway with the MYC callout
- Junk Yard, one of the Time Machine rewards begins a modified version of the original MYC
- Scared Stiff, during the infamous match sequence, has a (different) woman saying MYC as one of the channels
- Tales of the Arabian Nights has "Move your carpet!" which is said under unknown circumstances
- Revenge from Mars, during Drive-In Demolition mode, one callout is "Move your saucer!"

But then that was really it... I'm hoping he can add on to the long-dead running gag in his Mustang design for Stern :)

Hehe, Looks like someone recycled some of the graphics. I've noticed many sounds get recycled from table to table. Waste not want not right?

All the Williams machines have "borrowed"/"recycled" sound effects and graphics across each other. Hell, I notice a lot of similar sounds to Mortal Kombat when playing The Getaway.

Machines cross-reference each other all the time. The Medieval Madness startup sound "It's a great day for jousting!" is a reference to a similar announcement "It's a great day for skydiving!" in No Fear. Lots more references and easter eggs here.

I always thought it was supposed to reference Indy 500 and "It's a great day for racing".
No Fear came out a month before Indy 500 :p

In all seriousness, they probably all reference each other. Voiceover guy probably thought it'd be funny to do the voices for both Indy and No Fear in a similar tone, then went on to do it in MM for a bit of a joke.

Isn't it Elvira who says that? And in TotAN, I heard that call from the Tale of the Forty Thieves mode, when you shoot the ramp the first time.

It's true of a lot of Williams/Bally machines and Williams/Midway arcade games. Plus I think Dan Forden was responsible for Getaway's sound, so that makes sense.

There's an interview with one of the programmers of the unreleased Dredd arcade game (the Midway one) and he says that a lot of people there worked on 4 or 5 projects at the same time, hence the shared staff between games.

I have noticed that the Sound before the ball is kicked to the upper playfield from No Way Out in WH2O is also used in EATPM. Can't remember the exact place on that one though.
