Message: <blockquote data-quote="Kolchak357" data-source="post: 89465" data-attributes="member: 568">I think a lot of that is because people haven't had a lot of opportunity to play some of the older pins.  People like what they know.  I wouldn't expect people who have grown up playing DMD pins exclusively to vote for a Gottlieb pin from 1976.  I love a lot of the pins from the 80's & 90's.  But there are a lot of terrible pins in that era too.  Too often the DMD haults the game flow to watch a cutaway or play a video mode that I'm not usually interested in.  I'm not surprised by the poll results or rankings on many sites.  They are exactly what I would assume them to be.  But I also don't find them to be accurate in all instances when it comes to quality of gameplay.  I like a variety of different style pins.  I just don't want a library of pins that look and feel too similiar.  From my point of view the mid to late 70's Gottliebs are currently underrepresented.  While I think we have plenty of modern era DMD pins with a bash toy on them.  I know most won't agree with my opinion but I was just putting it out there.  I'm sure the DMD games sell better on The Pinball Acade but if you check the list of most actual pinball machines produced/sold (see link below).
