[QUOTE="EldarOfSuburbia, post: 293283, member: 4106"] Re-watching the early Bonds (I'm stretching it out, only got as far as Thunderball!), Connery's Bond does some pretty awful stuff when it comes to interacting with women - scenes that wouldn't even get written today, post #MeToo (and probably for some time before that). Like straight up in-your-face sexual harassment, or even sexual assault. The scenes in the health farm with the nurse near the beginning of Thunderball are particularly uncomfortable to watch. I grew up on Moore, came to appreciate Connery more as I re-watched the movies, thought Brosnan was okay, like Craig the best (though recency bias?), but overall the strongest arc of movies are still the Russia/Goldfinger/Thunderball trio. Lazenby and Dalton are afterthoughts (fun fact: they wanted Brosnan instead of Dalton, but Brosnan was busy with Remington Steele at the time). You Only Live Twice essentially invented the huge-villain's-lair-in-a-volcano trope that has been copied and parodied so many times. Moonraker is The Spy Who Loved Me, In Space. Though they swapped Moonraker with For Your Eyes Only because of the Star Wars effect (the end credits of The Spy Who Loved me says "Bond will return in For Your Eyes Only" - they wanted a "space movie" while Star Wars was still relatively fresh in the memory).
