Every studio was looking to ride the huge Science Fiction boom that saw Battlestar Gallactica, Buck Rogers and Space 1999 on TV during this time. And In 1978/1979 there was Outland (Sean Connery), Alien, Saturn 3 (Kirk Douglas), The Black Hole (Disney) and Star Trek The Motion Picture. Plus there was Omni magazine, and it seemed pop culture was all Space and Future related. It was a wonderful time to be a nerdy teenager.</p></blockquote><p></p>
