Timeshock! The real pinball machine

For those that may not know, Timeshock is presently being designed into an actual real pinball machine by the guys at Silver Castle Pinball, a dutch company. The Whiteboard was presented at the Dutch Pinball Open in November. I for one plan to by one when it's finished. The game is perfect for home use because the challenge of mastering the machine is immense and the rules are very deep. Plus the toys are just plain cool and the music and callouts are sexy.

How do we achieve the most authentic replication of the acclaimed ruleset of Timeshock! in our pinball? We simply let the Timeshock! computer game drive the real machine!

What you see in the video below is a proof of concept. On the left a notebook running a modified version of Timeshock! and on the right a test setup with pinball hardware.

You can see that the switches on the test setup control the flippers in the game (showing that the game can receive and process the switch inputs), and at the same time the ball saver insert in the game, drives the green light on the test setup (showing that the game can drive the coils/lamps/motors on the real machine)
