Got to spend time at the Silverball Museum in NJ. So most of this is one day of pinball, Theater of Magic I got to play at a more local location (sadly Medieval Madness at that local site had a broken flipper). Genie - In an arcade you really can't hear the music. I don't think TPA gets the wide body feel of this machine. I liked it better in person. Circus Voltaire - great table! Feels relatively similar to the TPA version. Centaur - This table was much easier in person. I completed The progressive target setup in the top left in my first game. The balls drain much more quickly in TPA... for me at least. Attack from Mars - I had a real hard time getting the feel for the ramps, seems much easier in TPA. Managed total anhillation only once, but hitting the saucer was much easier and less risky of a Drainer. I max scored the machine top score (not the overall official score), but only managed a meager 6 billion, which is 20 or so billion below my max (also had five balls!), so that probably tells that story a bit. Medieval Madness - took a few games but I started to get the feel for these ramps. Was able to do better in multiball here than Attack from Mars. A lot easier to hit the castle! For both of these related titles TPA is a lot more generous with the bonus multiplier v bumper relationship. Funhouse seemed like a relatively even recreation. Xenon - the table seemed to play much slower. The ball also didn't go into the top hole often. Was a bit harder to hit the ramps. Whirlwind, didn't seem as fast in the table, a bit more controllable. Whitewater - same as above. Junkyard - much easier to get the ball to hit the crane and even go behind into the junkyard. otherwise, the experience seemed similar. Gorgar - the targets seemed much easier to aim and hit in real life. Takes so much more effort (read luck) in TPA. High Speed - I'd say my experience matches in TPA and RL. Scared Stiff - barely played it. Only had so much time. Safe Cracker - Seemed like a similar experience. Not being able to hear the game did detract. The table is really small. Felt more like a toy, only played one or two games. Theater of Magic - love this table, and was able to get a decent score eventually after getting the feel of the loops and ramps. Really hard to play without hearing the sound. That table is remarkable in RL, for the effects. Think the ramps may be a little easier to hit in TPA, but otherwise a good recreation. Black Knight - no where as easy to lock the balls up top in RL. I think the game it rather boring so only played once or twice. But I think it was an honest recreation. Cyclone - The skill shot is about 1 zillion times easier in RL. The spinner also seems more random.
