I think once this Kickstarter is done and FarSight does one specifically for Star Trek : The Next Generation, the majority of people will feel more comfortable pledging and the goal should only be around $35,000.

I hope they do and I hope that the message one of the posters (can't remember his name) sent to StarTrek.com reaches the people in charge so FarSight can get more support for the STTNG table.

I just hope this TZ Kickstarter has proven that there is enough interest in these big license tables to make them commercially viable, which hopefully means that they shouldn't need a Kickstarter for every big license.

I hope that's the case and Im sure once Europe joins in, the sales will be considerable enough to get other cool licences. . . cough cough**Dracula, Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean, Lord of the Rings***cough cough ;)

Apparently the license for the Universal Studios monsters (for Monster Bash and Creature from the Black Lagoon) was inexpensive enough to be obtained without outside support, so at least some TV/movie-related properties are on the table. The two Elvira-themed tables are also seen as likely at some point - hopefully as a Halloween special.

TAF and TZ are probably the only two tables that command the universal appeal needed for a successful Kickstarter. And as I've said previously, while TZ succeeded and I'm very happy that TZ succeeded, FarSight can probably only drink from this particular well once more (for TAF), maybe twice (for the remainder of ST:TNG) before backers get irritated at the repeated requests for money.

I agree. If there's need for other kickstarters they should be spread over time and not too often to avoid some fan rants. :p

I did actually email editor@startrek.com explaining about it, but haven't heard or seen anything in response. I guess they only care about what they sell directly on their site shop.

EDIT:
If anyone has any Paramount execs in their little black book, now would be a great time to get them involved.... ;)

Yes, I've already sent an email to someone I know at CBS. My "day job" is running TVShowsOnDVD.com, so I deal with studio people on a fairly regular basis, and have good contacts in the home video divisions of all the major (and many smaller) studios.

I agree that Farsight should keep the kickstarter thing to a minimum. At least for the near future. Obviously, there's been a lot of complaining regarding no console DLC yet, no European version, various bugs and a lot of other things in their game. To keep asking for extra money wouldn't be a good idea right now. Like many of you, I too want tables like TAF and LOTR. However, they're many non-licensed ones that would satisfy me just as much if not more than those ones. I think Farsight should focus on two things after ST:TNG is, possibly, secured. One, getting their game established without so many bugs on every platform they plan on and, two, recreating tables that are a lot of fun but don't have such expensive licenses. WW, FT, CC, BK2K, ES, BC, F-14 and the amusement park trilogy just to name a few. I really could go on with the list but, I'm sure, you guys get the point. Once again, just my opinion.

Thanks! We need all the help we can get. I hope you get a reply soon.

AWESOME!!! This is what we need, specially if you have connections. This is one of the great things about the internet you can connect with "a guy that knows a guy" LOL

After this first experience we've had I think that once the STTNG kickstarter is over, FS should take a break from doing another kickstarter until new DLC's are released. That way future kickstarters might be easier to reach. I wouldn't mind seeing another kickstarter by fall or winter for two more licensed games. Heck, we should suggest voting on the next two "big ones". . . . . by that I meant tables. . . . .
