That explains a lot, I have tripped the game several times by starting a new game before the MATCH mode has finished and you then have to exit back to the table list as the game just gets stuck. As for requiring to insert coins though, pressing a button to insert a coin is no different to pressing a button to start the game. You still won't get that gratification of a free game because you can just press that button again, there is no risk of running out of goes, you don't need to earn it. This is a GOOD thing, it sucked on Pinball Hall of Fame where you had to unlock tables by playing ones you found boring. That said, the PC version should eventually get the insert coin functionality, it needs to for the cabinet mode to be complete. That is the only way it would be close to replicating the same thrill, by having an actual coin mech and limiting your play to however much money you have at the time. Then again you would also have to be pretty masochistic and stop yourself from opening up the coin mech or playing in free play. So overall, I still don't think there is much point to it unless you want to charge your friends to play on it. ;)
