Wizard goals possible after St. Within same game

Just recently, I got a new phone. It is possible to backup saved data. But I find it more fun to do them all over again. Same principle as 'you did it once, you could do it again'. Here's what this thread is about thought... Let's say you have the best game of your life. You know that you've blasted through those standard goals. You go on to complete all of the wizard goals within the same game. THEY DONT COUNT. In my quest to go back and get the st. goals first, I had the best game of my life on AFM. Nothing counted. (For wizard goals). Wouldn't it be cool if 'during the same game' it'd be possible to get all standard goals and wizard goals within the same game?

I'm left feeling like, dammm. I just did all of that, it just didn't count. So now I don't have the determination to do it again soon.

Based on what I heard one of the devs say, and from what I remember, for a short period of time during season 2 this was possible but there were lots of complaints, and people reporting it as a bug, so the idea of nested, as opposed to threaded, goals was removed and probably will not be put back in.

Yeah, this is a pretty annoying part of the game. A change has been requested a few times before.

And there's always, well, I could do it all again if I put my mind to it. This latest one really threw my for a loop though. AFM 47 bil. It was within the first ball. After that I choked. This one really hurt

I did this with Junk Yard shortly after release. I had a really good game, blew up Crazy Bob, and a bunch of other stuff... except I was still on Standard Goals. I've done it more than a few times on other tables too. It's even worse when there's one 'Standard' goal that is more of a pain than the rest. Goin' Nuts, I'm looking at you....

Just set your mind to clear standard goals and drain! Then start again and have fun or go for wizzards.

Right, with AFM, I didn't make the 'super skill shot'. Just forgot to. It wouldn't have mattered. But yeah, not like I'll never play AFM again ever lol. None of my scores count anyways because I never received the email to activate my account. I just like re-doing all the goals over. Completing Harem Multiball is a challenge, but I like the challenge. So, all in all, I don't mind that the wizard goals don't get completed within the same game.

I'll go out on a limb and assume you're talking about getting 180s on the clock. I did over 80 ONCE and thought, "yeah, nailed it!" only to re-read the goal. How is that a standard one? I have many times had a stellar first game or game pre-standard goals. Last wizard goal for Firepower is the score one which I beat ages ago, but can't seem to do a second time.

Goin' Nuts will likely be there with one Standard Goal for ages since I can't stomach too much of it and I tend to let the ball drain if there's less than fifty seconds on the clock and only one ball left rather than lengthen the experience by trying to kick off multi-ball again. I'd rather have had Aces High or Sorcerer than this - hell I'd take Jive Time or Play Boy over this precious "rarity!"

Yep, that'd be the one. And I just know that one of the Wizard Goals is going to be "Re-start 3-ball multi-ball", which I've done many times. Well, when I play it again, and if I ever get 180s, both of which won't be for a while. Even my daughter, who has little to no interest in pinball, commented that she hopes I don't play Goin' Nuts again.

I definitely think that you should be able to achieve wizard goals in the same game as standard goals. I hate doing some difficult wizard goal only to have it not count.

For me, having a flat standard and wizard goal structure just makes sense.

Put it this way. If you were a top-ranked PAPA player, you don't go for all the run-of-the-mill goals in one game, then play another game and shoot for the sky with the more difficult challenges. You go "all in" and try for all the things in one game.

So why should goal recognition be structured counter to this play style in TPA?

I remember playing Medieval Madness and bascially ticked off all goals but Rule the Kingdom in a Tournament session. But because I played the table shortly after rebuilding my Android tablet, I was only able to mark off the Standard goals.

It means "Make Wizard goals achievable after Standard goals within the same game, DAMMIT FARSIGHT!" I suppose it would be more correct to say "in parallel with" and the last couple of words and the bang at the end are mine.

I have achieved some Wizard goals while I was still working on the Standard ones, which I still haven't been able to officially clear. I never imagined it would bother anyone until I saw some comments about it here. If I did it once I figure I can do it again if I try. I just see the goals as some little extra bits to give you something to work for if you are feeling a bit aimless anyway.

To me it's a bit like the three-tiered tournaments we have. You can score 75 billion points on Central Park in a bronze competition and still no amount of arguing will get you ranked in the gold one. Clear these challenges, then recieve a new set.

It actually bothers me a lot more that you can't see what the Standard goals were after you clear them all. I've often got one that I had no idea what I did then went to look after the game and just see the Wizard goals. I could swear that once upon a time it would still show the Standard ones after that game or maybe until you left and came back to it, but now they disappear if you don't pause it in the middle of playing to check what you just did.

Then there's the completely bogus goals you don't deserve. I can't remember now which table it was, but I recently got awarded a goal for scoring... oh... 20 million points or something like that while my ball was going down an outlane with just a few thousand. I had to quit just to avoid that getting saved.
