My thoughts. Playfield layout is decent. I like the four sets of slings but the SDTM from a failed lock shot is poor design. I have not had much time with a HRC IRL so I can't confirm if this is true with the real deal. Artwork is nothing special but I do like the retro look of the playing cards on the sling plastics. Music is annoying yet strangely catchy. Overall, I would have preferred Monopoly but it's still nice to get any "newer" Stern.

I always liked HRC a lot as a real machine too. Keefer's games always have a certain flowy elegance to the rules. It feels like the machine is helping you along, not trying to fight you.

And I really like games with dual progress tracks towards multiple final goals. Other examples would be Monster Bash/Rock, Stiff-o-Meter/Spider Mania, Continent Tour/Atlantis, and all the piles of stuff going on in TSPP and LOTR. Interactions between the tracks give rise to lots of emergent complexity and strategy. HRC does that possibly the best out of any game with Casino Frenzy and Break the Bank. You might delay that last casino game just a bit to first finish up those last few chips for BTB first so that Frenzy can count chips towards the next BTB.

I'm thrilled to have HRC in TPA and was glad to see it over Monopoly. But TPA's conversion falls seriously short at the moment without some more physics tuning.

not true. often it smacks up the ramp at top speed, seems to hit something, then bounces straight out. it happens at all speeds and i think at all angles, there's something in the way there. maybe the virtual designer left his virtual screwdriver on the virtual playfield up there or something, it's really annoying.

There is actually a bar that comes down in the slot ramp after slots multiball complete. It has to be hit to 'open' the slot machine again. and yes, it usually comes back SDTM. The RL machine I played had the same behavior. Unlock the slot machine, lose the ball...

And my thoughts on HRC:

Love the theme. Love how there are many shots to take to get to different modes. Makes me think and slow down more to plan shots. Much better then ramp-ramp-ramp-ramp. (or ramp-ramp-piano).

Like the theme and the speed seems about right to me.

Absolutely hate that I can't hit the right orbit from a left flipper trap. I'm going to try some of the suggestions above until it is fixed. It does make getting to casino frenzy way more difficult.

But, that hasn't stopped me from playing over and over until I got Casino Frenzy and the other multiball modes.

Overall, I'm real happy with the table.

Yes, there is that bar, but what we're talking here is apparently well-directed balls with the requisite speed that go up the Slots ramp when Lock is lit, but still manage to hit something inside the Slot Machine, and come back down the ramp with typically the same effect as hitting the bar. The difference being that you can see the bar when neither Slots nor Lock is lit; when Lock is lit, there's nothing there, the ramp is down, the ball actually starts going through the Slot Machine and up the ramp, before bouncing back out.

this exactly. I lost so many balls to that something. Craps is finally done, but overall......... I would like to like this one but as it is now, I'm not so sure that will happen. It is broken in so many ways, mainly because aiming is pointless and impossible. Two things are certain, SDTM from slotmachine and outlines from slingshots or poker cards. Everything else is, well, casino style.......

I've got all wiz goals. That was my last. Fun challenge. That spot target shot to relight the ramp is not that hard actually and not too drainy if you miss. I kinda aim for the top of that big red light. Just pick the highest dice number every time (duh). Maybe extra ball has higher priority. But obviously don't shoot for anything else. Trapping and post passing is key. Most often shoot for middle ramp from right flipper, a little easier than from left.

And I'm actually not sure about the suoer duper mega extreme goal, I think I got the reward for only super duper jackpot but I can't tell for sure it just happened I wasn't going for it.
I got the wizard goal with a super duper mega jackpot. I got triples on all but the infamous right orbit.

Fun theme but I really dislike the implementation with all STDM's that seems factory set. That little bounce it makes on the top right slingshot always comes downs exactly the same way into a STDM. I also really dislike the faster-than-you-can-blink-slingshots into left outlane.

Overall, the table seems a little bit too fast and too steep, but hopefully this will be fixed later on. I haven't played a table that plays worse on my iPad1 since Ripleys. I know I should invest some $400 in a new iPad to fix this, but I just won't :)

The gambling theme is quite fun and the build-up of the different modes are cool.

I wouldn't count on it. Whirlwind and Haunted House both play faster than the real pins and that hasn't changed. Not that they aren't fun, but just don't feel like the real thing because of the crazy speed.

I'm not sure if it is my iPad1 but sometimes the ball really goes from slingshot to outland in a few frames.

I'm leaning on determining this is table as a big Fail. The physics are all off on this table and so many of the normal ball movements go STDM. It feels like Cactus Canyon with the added 3-sec-multiball-feeling of Dr Dude. Too bad, since the table has a fun theme otherwise.

We finally get a table where a ball for once doesn't always make it up a ramp, and that's somehow a bad thing?

yes. Because that is happening from wrong reasons. Sometimes you can shoot with left flipper, ball barely reaches the ramp but still goes up and then, strong shot from right flipper is rejected by who knows what. This is not a situation like in Pin-Bot or some others where eject hole is the reason. If the LOCK is lit and the ball is supposed to be shoot up the ramp but something sometimes blocks the way.
And yes, because that usually means SDTM from that shot that you have to make.

This game just doesn't "feel" right. It seems to me the ball speeds up after the 2/3 or 3/4 of the table (draw a straight line from the tops of each slingshot, and below that, the ball seems to speed up). The action between the slingshots also "feels" off. I'm sorry I can't explain it mathematically. And as far as the roulette wheel, I had a ball on there for more than three minutes. I know THAT'S a bug.

Part of the rule sheet confuses me perhaps someone can clarify. For Casino Frenzy Super Jackpot, 5 jackpot shots are listed at the 2 orbits and 2 ramps. Then the rules state "Once all six Jackpots have been scored at least once, the Center Ramp lights for a Super Jackpot". OK, six Jackpots make sense, but I haven't been able to confirm if there is a Craps Jackpot. Little help, please?

There is a Craps Jackpot. Left target above the 2nd slingshot, and before the Left Orbit.
