This is the master issues list for Star Trek: The Next Generation. This thread is maintained to aid FarSight in exterminating gameplay bugs, art issues, and sound problems from ST:TNG.

This thread is locked to keep it clean and focused on actual issues, as opposed to opinions about such issues. Report art issues in the Art forum, and all other issues in a new thread in this table's forum. I will add newly-reported issues to this thread at regular intervals. In addition, each bug has a link to the thread it was reported in; discussion of bugs should take place there.

Latest updates:

01 Dec 2013
  • Plunger button gameplay issue # 20-010 is fixed.
04 Jun 2013
  • Added simultaneous mode start gameplay issue # 20-011.
25 May 2013
  • Added plunger button gameplay issue # 20-010.
  • Plunger button gameplay issue # 20-009 is fixed.
05 May 2013
  • Added plunger button gameplay issue # 20-009.
26 Mar 2013
  • Added ramp art issue # 20-503.

Status key:
  • New - Issues that are newly reported.
  • Unknown - Issues from a long time ago that have not been followed up in a while so that no one really knows what happened to them.
  • Confirmed / Open - Issues that either I've personally reproduced, that so many people have reported that the existence of the issue is not in doubt, and/or that members have posted a demonstration (like a YouTube clip) of the issue.
  • Acknowledged - Issues that have been acknowledged by FarSight, but for which no fix exists yet.
  • Fix Pending - Issues that have fixed by FarSight, but the fix is in testing or submission process and is not yet available to players.
  • Fixed - Issues that have been resolved by FarSight. Note that not all platforms receive bug fixes at the same time, so an issue that is "Fixed" may still be unresolved on some platforms.
  • Could Not Reproduce - Issues that were reported, but the issue has not been successfully reproduced.
  • Working as Designed - Issues that are bugs or quirks in the actual table, as well as other issues that result from design or licensing constraints.

GAMEPLAY ISSUES:

20-001: Neutral Zone always awards Ferengi Multiball as its first award
First reported: 22 Dec 2012
Description: The Neutral Zone always awards Ferengi Multiball on its first activation.
Devices: All
Status: Working as designed. The "known state" of the table ROM has Ferengi up next. After that it should be random.

20-002: Beta Quadrant ramp registers "failed" shots
First reported: 26 Dec 2012
Description: The Beta Quadrant ramp will award shuttles for shots that fail to make it all the way around the ramp.
Devices: All
Status: Not a bug. Shuttles are award on ramp entrances. Anything else the ramp may be lit for requires a full shot.

20-003: In landscape mode view 3, the flippers are cut off
First reported: 23 Dec 2012
Description: In landscape orientation, selecting Camera View 3 leaves the flippers half off the bottom of the screen.
Devices: iPad 3
Status: Confirmed, open as of 17 Mar 2013

20-004: Ball ghosts through Neutral Zone / Command Decision area
First reported: 02 Jan 2013
Description: Very hard shots to either location cause the ball to ghost through the orbit wall and exit either the left orbit (for Neutral Zone) or lanes / right orbit (for Command Decision).
Devices: Android, iOS
Status: Confirmed, open as of 17 Mar 2013
Notes: The related behavior of the Neutral Zone triggering the Command Decision is not a bug; the real table does that.

20-005: Game Center achievement for high score does not register
First reported: 07 Jan 2013
Description: Making the top score does not award the achievement in Game Center
Devices: iOS
Status: Confirmed, open as of 17 Mar 2013

20-006: Camera locks on plunger view at start of Final Frontier
First reported: 25 Dec 2012
Description: When Final Frontier starts, the camera may focus on the plunger. If it does, it may last for a few seconds, until the two balls loaded into the cannons for Final Frontier are launched by the player or are auto-launched, or until Final Frontier ends.
Devices: Android, iOS, Mac
Status: Confirmed, open as of 17 Mar 2013
Notes: I've never had this happen in multiple rounds of Final Frontier, so whatever is causing this does not affect everyone equally.

20-007: Game freezes after starting Final Frontier
First reported: 28 Feb 2013
Description: Camera returned to plunger view briefly at start of Final Frontier as in Issue # 20-006, but then disabled the flippers. After all balls drained, table was still locked in Final Frontier mode with music going but otherwise nobody home.
Devices: iOS
Status: Could not reproduce

20-008: Table ROM froze after stacking Q's Challenge and Borg Multiball
First reported: 26 Dec 2012
Description: Table freezes 20 seconds into a stacked Borg Multiball / Q's Challenge. DMD displayed half a frame.
Devices: iOS
Status: Could not reproduce

20-009: Plunger button also activates right flipper and dead zone present in button's previous location
First reported: 05 May 2013
Description: Pressing the plunger button also activates the right flipper, causing the player's selection of the skill shot to change before the ball is put into play. Also, the area where the plunger button was in previous versions has a "dead zone"; touching the screen there does nothing.
Devices: iOS
TPA Version: iOS v1.2.7
Status: Fixed in iOS v1.2.8, but see Issue # 20-010.

20-010: Plunger button also activates function of nudge or flip area below it
First reported: 25 May 2013
Description: Pressing the plunger button also activates the nudge or flip area below it, if any. Setting the Special Button position will correct the issue until the table is exited.
Devices: iOS
TPA Version: iOS v1.2.8
Status: Fixed in iOS v1.2.9.

20-011: Starting Borg Multiball and Shuttle Simulation simultaneously leads to erratic behavior
First reported: 04 Jun 2013
Description: If the shot on the right orbit is lit for both Shuttle Simulation and the third lock for Borg Multiball, the table becomes "confused" and tries to start both modes simultaneously, leading to odd behavior. See linked thread for details.
Devices: iOS
TPA Version: iOS v1.2.9
Status: Unknown

ART ISSUES:

20-501: The Klingon Bird of Prey is backwards
First reported: 20 Dec 2012
Description: The Klingon Bird of Prey is backwards.
Devices: All
Status: Not a bug. The Bird of Prey can face any direction on a real table.

20-502: Black splotches present on the Enterprise's shield lights
First reported: 25 Mar 2013
Description: The center and right shield lights on the Enterprise are partially obscured by black areas.
Devices: PS3
Status: Confirmed, open as of 25 Mar 2013

20-503: The Alpha Quadrant ramp has no texture
First reported: 18 Mar 2013
Description: The Alpha Quadrant ramp is missing the texture used on the other two ramps. The purple playfield is visible instead.
Devices: All
Status: Confirmed, open as of 26 Mar 2013
