This is the master issues list for Bride of Pinbot. This thread is maintained to aid FarSight in exterminating gameplay bugs, art issues, and sound problems from BoP.

This thread is locked to keep it clean and focused on actual issues, as opposed to opinions about such issues. Report art issues in the Art forum, and all other issues in a new thread in this table's forum. I will add newly-reported issues to this thread at regular intervals. In addition, each bug has a link to the thread it was reported in; discussion of bugs should take place there.

Status key:
  • New - Issues that are newly reported.
  • Unknown - Issues from a long time ago that have not been followed up in a while so that no one really knows what happened to them.
  • Confirmed / Open - Issues that either I've personally reproduced, that so many people have reported that the existence of the issue is not in doubt, and/or that members have posted a demonstration (like a YouTube clip) of the issue.
  • Acknowledged - Issues that have been acknowledged by FarSight, but for which no fix exists yet.
  • Fix Pending - Issues that have fixed by FarSight, but the fix is in testing or submission process and is not yet available to players.
  • Fixed - Issues that have been resolved by FarSight. Note that not all platforms receive bug fixes at the same time, so an issue that is "Fixed" may still be unresolved on some platforms.
  • Could Not Reproduce - Issues that were reported, but the issue has not been successfully reproduced.
  • Working as Designed - Issues that are bugs or quirks in the actual table, as well as other issues that result from design or licensing constraints.


GAMEPLAY ISSUES:

06-001: First lock shot sometimes misses eye socket
First reported: 09 Apr 2012
Description: When locking the first ball in the Bride's eye, a fast shot will sometimes roll past the eye socket and land in the ramp lock. The table does not serve the second ball, so play cannot continue.

06-002: Camera zooms out and stays there during and after multiball
First reported: 17 Apr 2012
Description: After multiball starts, the camera zooms out and remains zoomed out even after multiball concludes, until a new ball is launched.

06-003: Very strong shot to shuttle ramp can also start "small wheel" spinning
First reported: 29 Mar 2013
Description: An extremely strong shot up the shuttle ramp also spins the small wheel. Player observed jackpot being lit for 1,943,000 on HUD while second ball was entering right eye socket.

06-004: Local high score list sometimes gets out of order

Description: The local high score list may place the same score in both first and second positions. Alternatively, a lower score may be placed in a position above one or more higher scores.

06-005: Wizard goals do not unlock upon completion of standard goals

Description: After the standard goals are completed, the wizard goals do not unlocked.

06-006: Camera does not return to shooter lane when ball returns there from play
First reported: 08 Apr 2012
Description: When the ball returns to the shooter lane in the course of normal play, sometimes the camera does not follow. Because the plunger controls are not enabled, the player has no way to continue the game.

06-007: Table stutters unless HUD is turned off on older devices
First reported: 09 Apr 2012
Description: On older devices, playing with the HUD on causes stuttering and choppiness.
Cause: Excess processor utilization in HUD graphics code

06-008: Shooting billion shot causes table to become unresponsive
First reported: 07 Apr 2012
Description: On rare occasions, shooting the billion shot will cause the table to become unresponsive. Ball ends up in shooter lane with no way to launch it into play.

06-009: Ball gets stuck in bumpers
First reported: 11 Apr 2012
Description: Ball gets stuck in bumpers occasionally, cannot be freed by nudging. Reports differ on whether using Call Attendant can correct the issue.

06-010: Making the backdoor billion while Bride's face is about to move locks camera to Bride's face

Description: Making a backdoor billion while the face is about to move causes the camera to zoom in on the face and remain there.

06-011: Stuck ball in Pinbot area causes camera to lock onto Bride's face
First reported: 02 Aug 2012
Description: If a ball gets stuck on the Pinbot playfield, the ensuing ball search may cause the camera to lock to the Bride's face. Attempting to change camera view did not free the camera. Calling the attendant returned the ball to the plunger, attempting to change view at this point freed the camera and normal play resumed.

06-012: Bride's face change causes camera to lock first to face, then to plunger
First reported: 12 Aug 2012
Description: On rare occasions, the Bride's face rotating causes the camera to lock onto her face. If the player attempts to use the plunger, the camera then locks on the plunger instead. Flippers still function while all this is happening, and shooting the ball to the Bride's face will temporarily correct the camera.

06-013: Full plunge always makes 200K skill shot

Description: Pulling the plunger all the way back will always make the 200K skill shot.

06-014: Post-skill shot kicker cannot launch both balls at once
First reported: 29 Aug 2012
Description: If both balls end up in the shooter lane at the same time, the plunger has enough force to throw both of them into the skill shot area, but the subsequent kicker does not have the strength to put both balls in the bumpers simultaneously, so play cannot continue at that point.

06-015: Score rolls over at 10 billion
First reported: 02 Jul 2012
Description: A score over 10 billion resets to zero.

Status: Not a TPA bug. The real table rolls over at 10 billion.

06-016: Second lock shot sometimes phases through side of Bride's head and into Pinbot playfield
First reported: 17 Aug 2012
Description: On rare occasions, the second lock shot will phase through the right wall of the Bride's head and onto the Pinbot playfield. If this happens, the game may lose track of how many balls are locked.

06-017: Achieving the last position on the high score list will prompt for initials but not record the score

Description: After achieving the last place on the high score list, the game will prompt for initials but not actually record the score in the list.

Status: Could not reproduce. I just achieved last high score on my iPad 3 and it properly registered.

06-018: HUD is not displayed correctly

Description: Three sections of alphanumeric HUD are displayed. The first two both display what should be on the second one. The third one remains unlit at all times.

ART ISSUES:

06-501: Lamps are missing from the Bride's mouth and eyes
First reported: 16 Apr 2012
Description: Lamps are missing from the indicated positions. (Note: The Bride's eye lamps should be white, and the mouth lamp red.)

06-502: Carpet visible when viewing Bride's head from a side angle
First reported: 29 Mar 2013
Description: When the table is in attract mode and pans to the right, it is possible to view the Bride's head from a position over the bumpers, looking vertically down and to the left. The carpet is viewable on the left side of her head, implying the cabinet has no bottom.

06-503: Pinbot Value lights do not illuminate

Description: The 100K - 200K - 300K lights for the Pinbot Value do not illuminate.

06-505: Game slows down when Bride's head rotates
First reported: 31 Jul 2012
Description: Whenever the Bride's face rotates, the game slows down. Reports differ on the severity of the slowdown. Most players experience a barely-perceptible slowdown; others report more severe framerate degradation.

06-506: Heart ramp textures are low resolution
First reported: 23 Jan 2013
Description: Textures for the heart ramp are low resolution
Devices: Android (Nook HD+)
Status: Unknown. May be a device-specific issue.

06-507: "Ball locked when lit" light never lights
First reported: 27 Nov 2012
Description: The "ball locked when lit" sign never illuminates.

SOUND ISSUES:

06-601: Sound cuts out during match sequence
First reported: 17 Apr 2012
Description: The table sound cuts out during the match sequence.
Devices: All
Status: Not a TPA bug. The real table sometimes exhibits this behavior.

06-602: Sound cuts out during normal play
First reported: 18 Apr 2012
Description: The table sound cuts out during normal play. Alternatively, some players report that the sound does not cut out completely, but merely drops to a very low volume.
