As of now, Pin●Bot is the table getting the Pro treatment, so Centaur will only be available as a standard table.

Whew! I can save some cash this month. If it was Centaur getting the pro I'd have to buy it twice. Once for ios and again for PS3.

WTH ! No comments from DarthVon Doom on his favorite table ?????? Did you guys ban him or did he give up on the hopes of seeing this table added?

As for me , I like it! I always have liked the stark contrast and 80's era art design of the table

Fear not...the reverb in Centaur is emulated beautifully. :)
this is great !!!! because i never enjoyed this feature in the real world arcade this will add something that will be new to me upon release in the virtual world. Since it is ROM emulation i am wondering if the match will come up and will we get a credit (replay) for specials OR an extra ball for specials as this was an operator setting. Also certain point values gave a replay OR extra ball depending on operator settings. In the real world the replay was desired HOWEVER in the virtual world the extra ball(s) would be more desirable as we are not using coins . I'm quite sure we will get the 3 ball setting. I can't wait till this update hits my iPad i will be purchasing immediately when available.

Based on the iOS beta, it will be the 3 ball version not the 5. And as far as I can tell the only way to earn extra balls is by earning the specials. After each ball all targets reset (I've heard people say they played Centaur where the targets did not reset, but I've never seen this). Totally agree with Pin Wiz, the reverb does sound great. If you love the real table, then you will love it on TPA as well. And for all you noobs out there, don't forget to spell ORBS in order starting with O.

this sounds akin to the college game room version i encountered in the real world except specials earn an extra ball which is more desirable in the TPA version. There were DIP switch settings if the targets would reset or not as i have encountered different versions set very liberal (5 ball mall version) to conservative the most conservative being the college game room version . I will be better able to compare the TPA version against the real world versions i encountered once i have it in my hands.

EDIT:
Centaur one (full height back box) was released nov '81 . Centaur 2 released in June '83 according to that video. The time i went to that college that had the game room was fall '82 ,winter-spring '83 and fall '83 (in spring '84 i transferred to a different branch of the college). This would put the time of arrival at the college game room fall '83 around beginning of october (centaur 2) when i first seen it. I had previously thought i first encountered the table fall '82 however i was one year off early. I also studied that video very carefully and it may be normal for most of the targets to reset at end of ball. There were recommended settings for a 3 ball game in the factory manual. Even though the targets may reset at end of ball the orbs that are lit captive (4 yellow lights near the ORBS targets center playfield) may hold over to next ball (DIP switch settings). In this case you just have to knock the targets down again no biggie. Another hopeful thing i seen in the screen shots of the TPA version one screen shot showed a freshly started ball with 500 points. the blue light was lit in just up from the center of the flippers which is a good sign. It is starting to look as if TPA will give us the 3 ball recommended settings except instead of replays we will get extra balls for completed specials. In other words this is looking very good based on what i have studied between the screen shots of TPA and the real world videos.

The tables this month (Centaur & Pin*Bot) don't have DMDs or a million toys on them, but they are the kind that I will play over and over again.

This is why I really like this era of pinball.. not a reliance on toys or gimmicks, just good solid layout and gameplay.

I'd like to have a centaur. Pinbot is one I almost got and it slipped away, my mistake, won't happen again.
if you mean a real life machine i can only wish i had room for one if i did it would be centaur but since this is not possible at this time i am very happy with the virtual world.

Centaur rules. I voted for EBD, but I'm glad Centaur won because I didn't realize how good it was. Now I know.

I still love EBD too, but yeah, Centaur is fantastic.
