It seems more and more like the PS4 version of Pinball Arcade is being left behind.
It's sad to see because this was my chosen platform of choice after leaving the PS3 behind.

I'm hoping a Farsight dev can jump in and give us loyal PS4 TPA fans an update here.
The table lighting bug still hasn't been addressed and the last we heard anything was way back in April...nearly half a year ago...the time went by so fast, but every so often I would still "Check for updates" on the Pinball Arcade icon hoping they snuck on in there. But no such luck. :(

I really loved when they added the ability to play the tables, all lit up, in a dark room. It really looked amazing!, but with the 1.17 update, that spectacular lighting was all but gone.

It was mentioned in the 1.17 update topic, that the 1.18 patch would address this bug, but again, that was so long ago.

Here's how it looked way back in 2014:

Amazing!

And here's what it looks like presently:

I also hope Glo-Balls™ make their way to the PS4. Without them it's just too difficult to see the ball when playing with the room lighting turned down.

And lastly, can you please give an update on when more tables will show up?

An ETA on the following would be most appreciated

1. Patch 1.18 (with fixed table lighting)
2. Glo-Balls™
3. More table releases

Thanks!

1. The patch will address the table lighting issue.
2. Glo Balls will be available.
3. The update will contain tables up to the latest release, were focused on the PS3/Vita version right now and the PS4 version should follow quickly after. It's still in development but we are pushing to get it out for Halloween with the October table release.

Awesome... Thank You for the reply!
I am very happy to hear that you're aiming for a releasing before Halloween. We normally have a small Halloween party in late October and Pinball Arcade is always a favorite with tables such as Monster Bash, Gorgar, CFTBL, Scared Stiff, and it would be awesome to have the lighting and Glo-Balls working on them!

Thanks again!

Nothing against Playstation owners, but the pictures also show just how much the TPA textures have evolved since the first two seasons. This is why I want the first two seasons updated, along with the fact that the majority of TPA's "creme de la creme" tables are in the first two seasons. Hopefully you also get the BK emulation update-even on PC, it looks so much sharper and plays so much better than the scripted version.

Also, it looks to me like they've brightened the DMD look. Am I right? I remember it looking bland next to the Xbox One, DX11, and even the 360.

"were focused on the PS3/Vita version right now"

^^^^^^^^^

Why? Why do you give two sh!ts about two platforms that are practically dead? I hope it's just that you gotta finish the last season for season pass buyers. Because, if that's the case, they paid for the content and you have to deliver. But, beyond that, why would you keep releasing new content for consoles that most have moved on from? And to sh!t on the PS4 (ya know the console you pushed so hard when it was launching and then were late anyway) is just sad.

The only positive thing about this is that, hopefully, the lighting will be fixed. Which, BTW, how did they screw it up to begin with? Also, that all the tables up to October's release will be available.

Dreaming of Fathom....

I'd like to add something else about the PS4 lighting that I think I've said before when SPA was first released. This goes for SPA as well. I have a older 50" Panasonic Plasma TV which I love. I've calibrated it and keep it under the Cinema setting with some minor adjustments. I've never needed to change that setting with any other game. But, if I want TPA and SPA to look "OK" I moved it to the Game setting and made a little adjustments.

One major problem is that FarSight seems to be applying some soft focus filter (on older releases especially) to give them more of a glowing look. It doesn't work well and to avoid this, I have to change my TV picture settings to something more like Vivid. We shouldn't have to do this but I can't stand playing the game otherwise. It just looks blurry.

Will there be an further work done on bonus end sounds and spinner sounds cutting out on a lot of the tables? High Speeds bonus add at the end is almost not there. LOL and the Spinners. Please.... The Spinners. :p

Someone mentioned that the missing sounds and music happens on the pc platform too. So, if it isn't fixed on pc, it isn't going to be fixed on PS4 for a long time.

Well yeah, PS3 needs at least one more update to finish out season 6, including whatever bugfixes they can throw at it, but after that I would think it's time to drop support and slash prices on the season packs. But then again I don't have Farsight's numbers, so I don't know whether it still makes business sense to keep supporting the PS3. There are a f*uckload of those consoles still out there, so maybe TPA on PS3 still brings in adequate revenue...

I'm actually looking forward to the PS3/Vita release. I have all previous seasons on those systems and would like to keep my Pinball Arcade 'complete' for as many seasons as possible. Even though I have a PS4 I have no intention of re-purchasing all of the Pinball Arcade seasons just to play them on a different console. And, Vita cross-buy gives console & portable pinball with one purchase.
