Realize this, their next Pinball FX is coming to current gen console only , skipping PS4 and XBox. Im dont understand the reason behind this for Playstation and Xbox tbh. Hardware of the new generation is very hard to get, not that much console sold atm, which mean even less pinball fans, im just clueless on why they simply didnt do it for PS4 and XBox, and just made it compatible with current gen. Tons of players are on Xbox and PS4 , and they wont have a chance to get it. I mean, they are leaving a lot of people out cold here, hardware availability is the issue for sure. I just can’t get a PS5, not ecouraging ebay scalpers, and hardware problem will continue threw 2022. Sure i got a Switch, but there is no argument here that FX3 on PS4 looks better than on Switch.

Any chance you think they might change their mind? Shutyertarp, any chance you could ask the question in a future podcast with Mel? Im very curious about their mindset with this.

Anything's possible. It wouldn't be too hard for them to port the Switch version over to the PS4 and Xbox One.

Mel already told us, it's a matter of priorities in the studio. So Switch, PS5 and new Xbox will get it at launch. PS4 and Xbone will potentially see it later, but it's not guaranteed. Mel did tell us in the BlahCade interview that he certainly recognizes the install base they would be ignoring. Game developers have to spend a lot of time programming for each console, and Sony and Microsoft want content for their new consoles first. That's the reality.

Oh ok. I think i miss your interview. Its a bit of a sucker Sony and MS want content for their newer console, when availability is not there atm. Dont mind too much, i will get it for Switch, but knowing the difference just between the Switch and PS4, i cant imagine how much will be missing vs PS5 or XSX.

Availability is relative, by all reports I believe PS5 has sold much better than any other Playstation over the same time period - but the demand is also higher still.

I mean sure, there are way more people with PS4s than PS5s, but if that was a good reason to focus on PS4 then you might as well never release the PS5.

I personally think releasing on Switch may be a mistake, as either the PS5/Xbox Series versions will be vastly superior (literally already see this with Zen Pinball Party looking dramatically worse than FX3, even the Switch version actually) or they will be held back to avoid the gap being so large.

I suppose I've kinda made the argument there actually, it would look/run BETTER on PS4 than it will on Switch so its a rather bizarre situation.

Hmm...well....I've decided that I only care about real-life recreations of pinball tables anyway. Not interested in their "original" tables, no matter how they might soup them up. And at this point (unless I missed something), they only have one real life recreated table that wasn't already in TPA, so I'm not really fussed about it either way.

And even when I do get a PS5, I will only buy their recreations, if they make more that aren't in TPA, and none of their fako tables.

Might sound like trolling, but I'm just being very honest.

They announced today (September 29th, 2021) that they will be including the previous Xbox and PS4 as well. That’s the good news. The bad news is the entire project has gotten delayed so no consoles will see it before Summer 2022, and that’s only if everything goes right Mel said! So, cross your fingers everything goes right!
