I respect those that like these types of tables. It's not for me though. I can't get into Big Shot, Central Park, Genie etc. It's not for me. What got me interested in pinball was the game Frontier By Bally as well as Firepower, Black Knight where after school I would go and spend very little by getting specials and play for hours. That's nostalgia for me.

The main table I would like to see out of this bunch is "Spirit of '76". The game is surprisingly addictive for an EM, and it holds a lot of nostalgia value to boot.

Would have liked to see Pat Hand and Old Chicago in the Poll for their special layouts (bumpers down left no outlane left on Pat hand) and no Lanes ti flippers on Old Chicago.
But its a good idea either, to do a poll.

Some tables missing from the list I'd like to have voted for: Four Million B.C., Fireball, Out Of Sight, Grand Prix (Williams 1976), Aladdin's Castle, Old Chicago (I think there are all EM...). Some of these I think are pretty obvious, and most of them I like more for the art than what I'd expect them to play like (as goes for the ones I did vote for).

Glad to see Surf Champ on the list.

It was the 1st pin I played regularly.
They had one at the store right down the street from me.

Not the greatest game of all time but definitely nostalgic.

I wonder if any EM's will appear on other polls later? Especially the Gottlieb poll. If you look at the top 10 EM's on IPDB, they are not even fully represented.

Speaking of IPDB, the number one game on there is Slick Chick and nobody has even mentioned it on the thread...is it that overrated or is it just nobody has played it?

It's a 50-year-old game. Finding one available for public play would be a very challenging task for those not near Las Vegas or Pittsburgh.

Do they have it in Vegas now? I used to go all the time and don't recall it there but it has been about 8or 9 months since I last went.

I was just assuming they had one based on the number of machines. Probably a dangerous assumption on my part.

For people that don't like EM tables, I ask that you try more of them. There are as many boring ones as there are fun ones. EM machines are pinball distilled to its core. Its just a ball, flippers and targets. When it comes down to it that's what all pinball machines are. Modern pinball machines are just a ball, flippers and targets with a fancy veneer and toys added over the top.

Well, there's one other factor to consider...speed. Most EM tables are sloooooowww, and that is due to the angle of the slope. It's quite a different experience in person, where you can visually see the flatness, as opposed to the virtual world where it looks no different from the modern tables.

I think EMs in person are much more fun (relatively speaking) than virtually. But I still prefer tables that aren't EMs!
