I know. It seems to me the same as "if you turn off your machine while it's saving it might corrupt the game file". Well, yeah, that is the case with every game ever released isn't it. Almost every game warns of that when you boot it up and we all know not to do it. Is that a bug? If it is it...
Yes, supposedly if you save a table to memory stick, and then remove that memory stick while the table is loading, the game hangs. Well, I know for a fact that is the case for many games. I know this because I have a friend who regularly plays games at my house. He brings his profile, and saves...
Surely there is a case for Microsoft "fast-tracking" the process by now though, because it is getting ridiculous and with every week that passes they are themselves potentially not only losing money but customer base. I know for a fact they can get it done in 2 weeks.
Sorry, I thought you meant you were in effect done with Xbox for good, i.e selling up and making do with a tablet. My bad. I'm sure you agree that would be crazy if based entirely on some DLC being delayed. A massive over-reaction at best.
Obviously that's not what you meant but I'm sure I've...
Everyone seems so sure that re-submitting for certification means another 5-6 weeks. I'm not sure where this info comes from. Pinball FX2 failed certification but was only delayed by 2 weeks.
Now, if I remember correctly, it may have been fast-tracked due to being promoted as part of the "Game...
If you hang out on any developer's forums for long enough, you'll hear them complaining about the certification process. I have encountered this hundreds of times, I can't possibly list them all here.
Since there are some very cynical people on here who claim that Microsoft is purposely...
Like I say, I'm not a fanboy. If it sounds like I have a bias towards the 360, well, I guess I do, and that's why I chose it as my main system. But it's only a small bias. The PS3 is more suited to some people.
I'm as tired of the eternal argument as you are, but I will always leap to the...
I hear you Rafie, and thanks for taking the time and effort just to reply to me, but I need to make it clear, if not to you, then to the other readers that I am no fanboy.
I have owned almost every console over the years, including the PS3. The 25 year old me would indeed still have every...
Microsoft's certification process is notoriously strict, and consequently lengthy, painful and frustrating. I have listened to countless XBLA developers grumbling about it, including, if I recall correctly, Zen, the makers of the Microsoft published Pinball FX. I have seen many other Microsoft...
Some people seem to be suggesting that they are leaving the 360 behind as a platform for good, switching to the PS3 or tablet, entirely based on some Pinball DLC being delayed. Am I understanding that correctly, because if I am, there are some people who need psychiatric help. And I don't mean...
Are those experiencing lag on PS3 sure that it's not their TVs? I know that when I got my LED TV, my Guitar Hero and Rock Band games suddenly became unplayable. You couldn't really see it, but you couldn't hit a note and had no idea why. I recalibrated numerous times (using the in-game...
I have been a professional interface designer for several years and a gamer for more than 25. I have never have the opportunity to combine these things before, sadly, but have always wanted to, as I feel many games fall down in this way. TPA is one of those games as the interface seems to have...
Yes, certain things are released on certain days. Retail games are almost always released on Fridays. Arcade games are almost always released on Wednesdays. DLC is almost always released on Tuesdays.
You will find the odd exception, but those are the rules.
Yes, I think it would be in the top 30 by now if it had had all of it's DLC on time. All these certification delays and problems may have fatally wounded this game. But I don't want to start another thread about that...
Like Ark says, if it's a slim (and presumably if you bought new, not second-hand, it definitely is), this point is moot. The slims have no overheating issues, so there are no circulation or solder issues to speak of. Anyone still talking about melting solder in 360s being an issue is basing...
I would like to apologise to Farsight for this rant. I would not get so wound up about these things if I had anything better to do than guzzle coke and wait for virtual pinball tables to be released. That's MY problem and I shouldn't take it out on anyone else.
Here's my more considered...
