I heard that SEGA Showcase games, including Starship Troopers, only used one speaker instead of two. That may explain the audio issues.
While I tested Starship Troopers during beta phase, sounds were pretty muffled to me. Now, they seem more crisp than during that phase.
After trying to complete Klendathu, I think I finally figured out what to do. You'll need to shoot not only the 9 bugs of each type, but also each Nuke shot twice, apart from the moving target, to light the 50M Jackpot.
Heard back:
"Re-pitching the audio files would not be the fix here. The files in the game are recorded at the proper speed. Somewhere (in the software or our PC engine) the files are being sped up and what we need to figure out is why that is happening."
Ah well. Least I tried :)
