That may be a point at which it's trying to connect to some internet thing or other; if your internet connection is flaking out--or absent--that could be a cause of the delay.

I tend to think TPA does a better job of recreating more modern tables than it does on the older ones; on older tables, there often isn't a whole lot besides flippers, bells, and wood grain, and if you don't get those just right, there just isn't going to be much there to draw you in. TPA's...
