I sure let them know how happy I was with them :) I already was prepared to put huge sums of money in this app without those rewards, so it's not about that. But it's sure nice to feel like a "preferred customer" ;)
5 seasons times 10 packs, times 8 euro's (rounded up, Pro versions) comes to...
Got my prize too! Because I already bought season 5 and backed the dr. Who Kickstarter at a level which includes a season 6 pass, they were very kind to think of an alternative for me. I won't go into details here because I don't want to set a precedent, but if you happen to be in the same...
Great score on FT there Invitro! I see you in my rearview mirror from spot #10.... :)
But about those Western Conference Finals: I'm very disappointed in the Warriors. I've been always interested in the NBA and have been following it from the early '90's on. It just cooled off for me after...
Yep, that 660M by Maestroreese will be difficult to beat. My own 450+ score came quite quickly, typically a round in which I played loose without a defined gameplan, everything just clicked (although it was certainly not the perfect 10 minute game). I haven't been active in tournaments before, I...
Well, that's Tarek Oberdieck right there :) Guess you don't know him, but just check out some of his other work by walking through all leaderboards...
He's legit BTW
Wow, great score there! And very interesting beaviour on the Mosh Pit count. I've seen counters max out and rollover, but never this. It seems on purpose, doesn't it? That's advanced programming right there, especially considering it was not written to cater to TPA scoring monsters.... :)
As I said before, besides the skill set needed to get games going for that long, it's the mental stamina that I'm really in awe off. I have some tables now that I can "infinite" but when I try to do that, my brain starts screaming at me after a couple of hours to just let it all drain and return...
Great idea, nice of you to put up that prize! I really like the idea that the table of the week will continue, it's just what I need to keep competing and fire up tables I would not otherwise play.
Make it a priority to close the gate :)
Kidding aside, on iOS it's a very good strategy to learn how to drop those targets in the tunnel by having the ball ricochet from the TLE targets. When deployed properly you can get the ball at the left flipper fairly easy. The fun starts when the gate is...
I'm not fond of Zen's physics either, but a partnership wouldn't automatically mean that TPA would become Zen-like in that aspect. They both could profit from a broader user base, maybe a bit more crossover between both programs/apps. TPA could profit license-wise and may learn a bit about...
A partnership with Zen? That would be very interesting indeed, but does that make business sense? They kind of operate in different territory with Zen only having originals and TPA predominantly with existing tables (excluding the Ghost Busters thing). I immediately have to think Star Wars...
And....back on topic. I was thinking that two seperate apps wouldn't necessarily mean two seperate leaderboards, right? Afaik scores are uploaded to a server that is running independently from the TPA app, wouldn't be possible to let both regular and Stern TPA upload to the server/leaderboards...
Remember being able to shatter the backboard? And that the guy with the broom would cuss you out? :) There was a sequel called MJ vs. Bird that I played briefly on a C64, with a seperate dunk contest for Jordan and a 3-point contest for Bird.
Go wash your keyboard EOS! :)
I actually liked Electronic Arts back in the day of the Apple II, One-on-one with dr. J and Larry Bird and all those NBA Live games.
Or LOTR....
That will be another day.... :)
I'm a bit torn about all this news. On the one hand it's great to get more pinball in any form, especially with good quality graphics and a serviceable physics engine. On the other hand, I really like having all the tables in one app for HOF points...
Sounds you have a bit of a burn-out, happens to everybody here I know that is into scoring and competing for places on the leaderboards. I tend to stay away from obvious buggy tables and when I get burnt out, I'll stop playing for a week and/or until a new release. What irks me for example is...
Been there, done that.....had my share of heartbreak, especially in the first two seasons. To be fair, sometimes it's the ROM that is at fault, not Farsight. Those tables were not always built in real life to accomodate the high scoring that is possible in TPA. Then again, some tables definitely...
