Separate resources. It was needed cause with dynamic lighting the textures have to be different, as well as some other technical reasons.
They however run the same code and the same object setup for the table. So art bugs would have to be fixed twice (depending), but gameplay bugs are mostly...
In my previous post I did say it wasn't in "Yet". I have it mostly working today. Just an issue with the camera I need the engine guy to take a look at.
If you need to create a shortcut when it comes out, just point it to PinballArcade11.exe instead of PinballArcade.exe. Both will be in the same folder.
It's not available yet. When you click play, it should bring up a dialog with 3 options that say play dx9, dx11 or config utility. The DX11 one will give you an error, since the executable is not there yet.
I need to discuss with management how they want me to handle the release and/or public beta.
I wanted to get all the major bugs fixed so everything looks good before trying portrait. I'm hoping it won't be much work. Unless something major pops up today I might get to it today, if not tomorrow.
We slipped releases back a week due to TAF taking longer than expected.
If I do an open beta, it would be more like. DX11 is out, try it out, report bugs. But you would still have all your normal unlocks.
It's been a bit more work than originally expected. I wasn't happy with the quality, so I've been spending time fixing that. I think the extra wait is worth it. I've fixed over 60 bugs so far, many of those I imagine were on PS4 and Xbox One.
FYI, I didn't know that if you stop supporting a version on android the user can still keep what they have, they just can't upgrade. On Steam if someone would upgrade the app would no longer run.
Also, MS stopped supporting XP last year in April.
Just curious. Is it ok to stop supporting older hardware for people who have paid for an app? So someone purchased something, gets an update and can no longer play?
